@ Stuntman - India's education is everything but poor if you look at it in terms of achievement and quality. IITs and IIMs are the best institutes to do engineering and MBA in the world. Infact, I can easily say that if not for this conventional attitude towards change and practicality, Indian education system would have been the best. Alas, this one factor completely demeans it.

There is too much pressure in India for students... firstly from the school and than from parents and if you fail or dont get good grade/marks than you are basically stuffed becuase colleges/uni's in India only take students who have good grade. On top of that you cant find any good job without qualification in India. Over here most people study till 10th (India wise) and still get a good job earning 30k a year.

@ Aish - Well, average students ( and by average I mean people who get 85 %, 90% ) have no choice but to get into an average college :(

Neetz, AR Rehman has such an amazing voice...... i love "Maa Tujhe Salam" it is very well written and sang, reminds me of India evrytime i hear it :)

Ankit goodluck 👍🏼 im sure u did well ! yeahh i am =( i messed up big time. I didnt even study hard .. i could have done so much better .. My geograpy exam was the worst .. i couldnt get myself to concentrate on the paper .. i wasnt even reading the Questions properly .. couldnt even be bothered to finish it ;S i think i had some kind of panic attack !

liz :O the teachers hit students !? oh my gosh .. thats really sad. Im sure there are other ways to discipline kids.

I shouldnt really say this here, but a few years ago when i used to go to our local community mosque ..the teachers there used to hit students aswell. I never got hit, but once my lil sister did get punished, and she was only 7 or 8 then. Once my dad found out, he took us out of there .. thankgod !

Ankit - Yeah, I agree with you there. There is just too much pressure to do well. There is no friggin' breathing space :( and yeah, the 'DEGREE' is everything. I wish the system didn't attach so much value to a small piece of paper and actually looked at the person's aptitude.

Anyway, Since it's Independence Day, and I really feel like being less of a cynic today lol, I'll just be patriotic and see the positive side of our country :D

85% - 90% is average ? are you kidding me 😲 and liz ... you are one of the most cleverest people i have come across ! and you are only 17 ;O you have knowledge about topics and issues i havent even heard about. So what are the clever people in india like ?? i wonder ...

@ Aish - only in the convent and army schools. These folks are really strict. Although there has been a substantial decrease in it because the govt. banned this practice, few retarded schools don't follow this rule :S
