TR OS : Hidden Feelings
Rey was sitting on his desk with a file in his hands but his concentration wasn't on the file. Secretly he was looking at his co-worker every now and then. He knew he was head over heels in love with his co-worker cum friend but couldn't voice out his hidden feelings. That's when he heard someone say,
"When you gonna do somethin' about that?" Someone asked.
Rey pretended not to know what his best friend was talking about and continued his work.
"Oh come on!" Swayam huffed. "We all know you've got a crush on Taani."
Rey glared up at him from where he was typing some documents. "Not so loud," he hissed. Reshma was entirely too close and a gossiper, not a good combination, our hero knew from experience.
"Alright," Swayam drawled good-naturedly, shrugging. "But denial isn't just a river in Egypt."
At this Rey didn't say anything and just watched Taani do her work from his table but immediately looked away as soon as taani turned towards him.

Taani was working on her table when she felt stare on her; she started looking around and saw everyone doing their work. But her gaze stopped at Rey who looked busy in his work or that's what she thought. A shy smile appeared as she looked at him.
"Ummm..." someone cleared throat making Taani look beside her only to find her friend giving her a teasing look.
Taani raised her eyebrow asking what?
Neeta shook her head, "You should try showing your feelings that you have been hiding from so long at least to that person you have started loving since the day one."
Taani sighed but didn't said anything because she didn't want to ruin their friendship because of her hidden love for Rey; instead she looked at Rey one last time and went back to work.

Several hours ago. And here it was, closing time of the office, and he was alone with Taani, waiting to give her a ride home.
She glanced up at him, her big chocolate eyes sparkling. "Give me another couple minutes, K?"
Rey nodded. He didn't mind waiting, not for her.
She was singing along with the radio softly while getting the printouts. It had become one of his personal favorites after listening to the lyrics closely because it seemed to fit so well for what he felt about Taani.
He loved her; of that much he was certain. He had loved her since that first day in the office. She was sweet and had looked so devastated when he'd turned down her suggestion in the meeting. Much more devastated than she should have been, not knowing him well at all.
Rey wanted to be able to tell her how he felt. He wanted to be able to hold her. He wanted to be able to love her the way she deserved to be loved.
But he couldn't. He couldn't because being owner's son made it too risky to be involved with anyone even with his family. No one knows he was son of their boss except few of his close friends. Though Rey knew Taani could take care of herself, but that didn't stop him from wanting to be the knight in shining armor.
He toyed with the idea of just taking her in his arms and kissing her, the way he'd secretly dreamed of during these past few months, though he knew in his heart he wouldn't. Taani was shy and she might not approve of his suddenness. Then there was always the fear of rejection, though Rey preferred not to think about it. That settled it then; Reyaansh Singhania wasn't about to ruin his friendship with Taani which was not an easy task. It took a lot to be friend with Taani. She wasn't just a girl for him but she was special something about her was different that always made Rey love her more.
"Rey?" Taani sounded concerned, like she'd been calling him for a few minutes and he hadn't noticed.
Rey snapped back to attention. "Yeah?" he questioned, feeling like an idiot. He could jump right into fighting the goons but he couldn't even talk to his own best friend?
"Let me get my jacket from the office and I'll be ready," Taani said, her chocolate brown eyes shining in the light of the moon and the smile made his heart skip a beat. God he loved it when she looked like that.
Taani came back a moment later, now wearing the jacket above her dress making her look more beautiful, he can't take his eyes of her.
"Let's go," she announced, smiling in a shy sort of way at him.
Rey nodded, thought for a moment, debating whether to ask or not but then spoke. "Hey Taani, you wanna grab a slice of pizza on the way home?"
Taani thought for a moment whereas Rey stood there nervous waiting for her answer thinking maybe he shouldn't have asked her. But his nervousness turned into happiness when Taani nodded her head in agreement.

Rey had to admit he liked the way she holds his hands whenever he speeded the bike. Not that she really needed to; there was no way he'd ever let anything hurt her.
It wasn't crowded in the pizza parlor, allowing the two to get a good booth in the back. They didn't talk much, just sat quietly, occasionally slurping at a soda, enjoying the other's company.
Taani tucked few stray wisps of dark hair behind her ear. Rey liked that he'd made her smile. Once or twice their knees knocked under the table, causing Taani to blush. Was she as nervous as Rey?
"Do you believe in love at first sight?" Taani blurted suddenly, completely red and refusing to meet his gaze.
This caught Rey by surprise. "Well..." he began slowly. He doesn't know what to say but he thought of saying the truth "I never believed in love at first sight... he paused a bit and saw an emotion of sadness in her eyes. But I guess I can believe in love at first sight."
This took Taani completely in surprise; she wanted to ask why suddenly he started believing in it? Does that mean he have someone in his life. The thought itself made her feel sad. But she didn't have the gut to ask him fearing he might think of her being nosy in his personal life. So she tried to smile in front of him
Rey reached across the table and held her hand. "Why do you ask?"
Taani wouldn't look at him anymore. "Never mind."
Rather than pressing the matter, Rey finished his slice and gestured towards the exit. Taani nodded, following and looking very interested in her shoes.

Taani stood outside her house gate rocking her right leg back and forth sometimes looking down while Rey was standing in front of her with hands shoved in his pockets looking at her.
Taani's hair falling on her face like the curtains; rey couldn't stop himself from removing the hair that were falling on her face blocking his view that touch of his fingers made her shiver, she looked up into his eyes and both of them got lost.
A sound broke the eyelock between them making Taani look down as blush crept on her cheeks making her red while rey looked at her and smirked as he saw her becoming red.
She cleared her throat so that her voice won't come as husky and said,"Thanks for the ride and the pizza. See ya." Saying she moved a little away from Rey.

Rey saw Taani going away he doesn't know but he felt like it was now or never. He repeated in his mind he can do it, he has to confess his hidden feelings that he has kept to himself from so long. He has seen the love in her eyes too. He has felt her nervousness around him. Without giving a second thought he called out for her.
"Taani..." Rey's voice trailed off uncertainly.
She turned and looked at him. When he didn't respond she moved a little closer. Without thinking Rey brought her into his arms, squeezing her so tightly it bordered on pain.
He held her there for several long minutes, as if he was trying to reassure himself that she was real, that she wasn't a figment of his imagination.
She was stiff in his arms for a moment, the hug having surprised her. But then she relaxed, resting her head against his chest. Taani could hear his heartbeat and it comforted her.
"Earlier...you asked me if I believed in love at first sight. Any reason?" Rey whispered in Taani's ear. She shivered slightly. She doesn't know what to say. She had feelings for him from the start.
"Rey...I..."
Rey held Taani closer, forcing her to meet his coffee eyes with her own. He had to make her understand.
"Taani...I can't."
She knew what this meant, why can't he just accept it? maybe he doesn't have feelings for her like she had. Taani's heartbreak showed on her face. "W-why?"
"It would have to be a secret, and I really wouldn't want it to be."
Taani reached up and gently cupped his face in her hands. "Don't fight it, Rey, I won't mind if it has to be a secret." she whispered.
He knew she was right; he didn't want to fight it, didn't want to keep his feelings a secret any longer.
"I love you Rey" Taani confessed softly knowing she should confess instead of waiting for him to say.
Rey did the only thing he could think of. He kissed her.
breaking the kiss he joined his forehead with her and said while taking sharp breathes,"I love you too Taani."
That's when she hugged him tightly savoring their moment.
And as they stood there, in the dim light of the moon, kissing and holding each other, Rey wondered why he took so long to confess his feelings. At last they confessed their hidden feelings for each other keeping their worries aside
