Finally a writer willing to experiment with Swayam. People make him such a saint that he becomes so unbelievable, knowing well that he comes from a family of money i say the characterisation is spot on. You're writing is powerful and effective, and every monologue is clear to each characters internal dilemma. What excites me is that how they will grow over time, the sex, the drugs are a part of every teen or college students life, but we all grow out of it.Eventually settle? Also thank you for making Taani more relatable, everybody needs a breaking point, and you showed her quiet accurately. I think the Rey and Sharon scene was kind of expected but you wrote it well, but i really hope you work on Sharon as a character because she come across very shallow very easily, and it makes me question why would a guy like Swayam ever like her? Surely he isn't supposed to be superficial? If anything i ask is that you make her more redeemable or human, not that you have done a bad job, you kind of wrote just as she is, its just i was never happy with the way she was on the show, the character is bipolar with they way writers wrote her, and its sad that they had a very good actress both times. But please update, waiting for this and i'll send it to more readers that are willing to give it a go.

I read both the chapters in one go. And Ive got to let you know I love it.
Especially your writing has been really powerful. I mean its strong and mature. Frankly I'm still a kid, like I'm just 16. So reading such a mature topic, I always feel awkward. But you have written it with such cleanness that I didn't have to shy off at any part.
As its your first write up and that to an FF. I would say well done. And I'm sure as the story moves on, your writing is just going to become better.
Umm... I don't know how to say it.. And I don't want to sound demoralising... But I feel your talking alot about sex.
Well I know its fiction. And I don't have a problem with the topic. It's quite a common topic now. But make sure in the future updates you write more of what's inside them.. Than what they do... That is have sex. As I personally feel emotions of the character also needs to be given equal importance.
But the story is truely gripping! And I want to what will happen next. As in how will they end up together, when they find physical pleasure with someone else.
And thanks alot neet for recommending this story to me.
I really love it!

PS: Don't get me wrong maybe as I'm still young, I might have slight of awkwardness in reading such a topic. I didn't mean to be demeaning. I really loved your writing style
And welcome to the writing world.
Pps: what is DNC? :P

Loads of love

Chapter three:

"Tere dil ke sheher mein ghar mera ho gaya, ho gaya, Sapna dekha jo tum ne woh mera ho gaya, ho gaya, Doobe to yoon jaise ho paar, Hona tha pyaar, huaa mere yaar, Hona tha pyaar": Hona tha pyaar by Atif Aslam and Hadiqa Kaini

Swayam struggled to open his eyes to the light that was shining through the curtain. Who thought that it was an acceptable idea to leave the curtains open? Oh Swayam remembered he did. When he came home last night he was completely out of it. Those pills were no joke, they had the ability to show night during the day, and day during the night. But, they were his friends these last couple of months. Swayam looked at his clock, it was 11 am, and he was surprised that this was the earliest he had woken in days. He heard a distinct knock on his door. "Come in Taani" Swayam screamed assuming that it could only be his sister to yell at him for not waking up earlier. Of course Swayam had a solid excuse, he could fib saying his lectures were late. But, in truth Swayam knew why a rich boy like him would need a degree, which he could buy it if he wanted. He knew that one day he would overtake his father's business. To his surprise it was kaaka who came in. "Swayam baba, aap ki chai, aaj Taani beti utti nahi" said Kaaka while placing his chai on his bedside table. Swayam was a little surprised, Taani hadn't woken up. Taani was the ultimate early riser, these days she would go to the gym in her words an attempt to be a little healthier and would return home to cook him and herself a healthy breakfast. Taani of course didn't know about his drug usage, sh*t would hit the roof if she found out. She would react so badly and dare he say go to Rey to ask him for help. Swayam had seen her everyday trying to feel better. She was trying. He couldn't drag her back into this hell hole that she had gotten herself out of. But, by now she must know about Rey and "her". Swayam mentally slapped himself, he was supposed to approach Taani last night to see if she was okay but he had returned late. It's never late than ever, he would go now.

"Acha, kaaka aap jayia, ek aur cup chai aap Taani key liya banayia" Swayam asked while getting out of bed and going to the bathroom. Swayam washed his face and stared at it. He could see his eyes were still bloodshot from the pill usage, his hands were fidgety but he had to put on that calm facade that he was comfortable in. He then left his room and walked towards Taani's and proceeded to knock and call out her name. Odd, a quick knock or two would usually work but this time his knocks were going unheard. Swayam still wishing to respect his sister's privacy knew he had to open the door because worry had started to creep into his heart. He tried to open the door with no luck as clearly she had locked it in from the inside. Swayam tried to call her name again with aim she would hear him but know he had to forcibly open the door. After a couple of pushes the door finally opened. Swayam walked in but nearly stumbled backwards in reaction to the carnage in front of him. Taani's lifeless body lay there in a pool of her own blood. Her wrists severely slashed repeatedly with an empty container of pills by her side. History had officially repeated itself. Swayam had to react quickly to the predicament in front of him. He kneeled on the ground an attempt to check her throat pulse, thanking God that it was still moving. "Kaaka, Kaaka" Swayam aggressively yelled. Kaaka came running to the room and stopped in his footsteps. "Kaaka, jaldi keejiya aur driver ko kayi keh gaadi nikyali" Swayam said while feigning a failed attempt at remaining calm. Kaaka slowly regained his senses he secretly knew why these kids were reacting this way, this family didn't deserve kids like them. He quickly ran to the driver and asked him to start the car. Swayam slowly picked up his sister and took her to the car while continually praying that God would save his sister again.

...

Rey sat idle in the rehearsal hall while the team pretended to act normal and continue to practice their routine. They knew Rey wouldn't be interested in practicing while his life was falling apart. Taani would know by now. His hook up with Sharon had become the biggest news story that had travelled through the walls of St Louis. What previously was just rumour had now become fact. Swayam was wrong about a lot of things except one. Even he knew that if Taani and Swayam hadn't come into his life the chance of him ending up with Sharon was a serious probability. Even she used to joke about the days when she used to try to impress him. But, her attraction was fickle and she knew it. Her falling in love with Swayam wasn't, she didn't love him because of the materialism that their society had entrenched in them. She tried her best to change but would always be sucked back into that fake world. Everything was all messed up. With no aim of resolving at all. He had again stuffed it up with Taani, he could convince his consciousness that sleeping with Sharon was the same as her sleeping with Adi Sir. But, he knew that wasn't true. It wasn't the same thing. He had slept with her brother's love. Regardless of the fact that he was with Ruhi for the last month, he knew there was more to the story than the Shekhawat's were showing. Taani would not forgive him, he had screwed up his life up again. He had to start anew where he would no longer shift his mistakes on others. He would know have to take it like a man and hope for the best. "Rey you okay?" Sharon asked while continuing to sit beside him. "Yeah, yeah just thinking that Swayam hasn't come today I didn't even see him in class" Rey asked politely. Sharon froze at the sound Swayam's name. Rey realised his mistake, "I'm sorry I didn't realise".

Sharon was just about to reply while Bharat tapped him on his shoulder and quietly asked him to come with him outside. Bharat this quiet, was unusual, he was known for his loudness. Rey looked at his pale face and knew something was wrong. Rey walked with him outside and Bharat put his arms on his shoulders in an attempt to comfort him. Surprised at his gesture, "What's wrong with you dude, we don't do touchy feely stuff that's more me and Swayam, you and me are more manly" Rey joked which was met with a blank look from Bharat. "Okay are you going to tell me what wrong, I'm worried now" Rey asked. "Rey, you need to stay calm and not overreact. Swayam called, its Taani." Bharat said calmly. Rey froze at her name oh God this had to be bad, what had happened. "She... she um I don't know how to say this... she tried to kill herself and you need to get to Lilavati hospital right now...Its bad Rey" Bharat continued calmly. Rey lost his balance, now understanding why Bharat had put his arms on his shoulders for support. "You don't have time for this, you need to go now and Swayam asked me to tell you to not tell anyone else till he gets a confirmation from the doctor that if she'll make it. He knew you'd want to be here." Bharat empathetically told Rey while hoping that he would not badly react at hearing how dire the situation was. Rey regained control and hugged Bharat tightly for letting him know. Rey started to run towards his car and hoped and prayed that she would be okay.

...

Swayam put his phone away in his pocket he had just called Bharat to tell Rey what happened. He couldn't call Rey. He had been looking at Rey's name in his phone but his hand trembled each time he tried to ring him. Regardless of what had been happening he knew that Rey loved Taani immensely, it's just God wasn't giving them a break. Their love story was based on perpetual misunderstandings, but at the end of the day they loved each other. They both would try to deny it but they knew the truth. That type of love was rare. Just like his relationship with Sharon is... or was. Swayam sat there waiting for the doctor to come out and tell him how his sister was. It had been a tough couple of months for them. The last time this happened it lead to the opening of numerous other truths, which were life altering for both. He remembered the last time this had happened. He had let her down once more, some brother he was. He was supposed to help her not make it worse.

1 and month ago: a day or two after the video incident where Rey humiliates Taani when he is drunk:

"She's stable for now, you need to get a parent or a guardian here. We need some forms they need to sign" the Doctor told Swayam. Swayam was still shook up at what had happened, it was this shock that had refrained him from calling his friends. Rey would automatically blame himself. He had never seen his sister so distraught, the sight of her in her own pool of blood. Had left a mark on him which wasn't visible but would be entrenched in him. He had been careful to see that no one would notice when he brought her here, the stigma of mental illness was strong in their community. Taani would be humiliated. He told the Doctor he would ask his father to come, he would react badly but someone had to know. Swayam sat in his car and started to drive home, his father wasn't picking up his phone so he would have to get him himself. He parked his car and quickly got out and walked to the lower section of his house. He decided to knock which was met with a dreary silence. He saw the light was still on, but then why wasn't his father opening the door. He knew where the keys were kept, he saw the plant where the secret key was kept, and picked it up and went again to unlock the door. His father would yell, but the situation was grim and Taani needed him to come back to the hospital. He didn't have time to waste. Swayam went in the house slowly walked to his father's room and heard noises coming from his father's room.

Swayam continued to the door and opened it. He was no dummy to be unaware of what was going on. Like a nave little boy he had hoped his mother was in town but of course that wasn't the case. He knew his father was a strict to him, but he always thought or hoped at least he was a faithful one. He had hidden everything so well under his fake faade of being a faithful father and husband.

There was his father in a comprising position with a women no older than the age of 25. She looked young. She looked very young. "Swayam... I can explain" his father tried to explain. "Look Taani's in the hospital she needs us, so clean up this disgusting mess, I'm waiting outside" Swayam replied stoically. Swayam left the room and waited for his father to come out. He watched that girl leave, she looked like a high-end escort with high heels and a backless saree. Huh, at least his father had tried to maintain some class in this.

What the hell was happening to his life, yesterday his life was figured out and now this was a moment in which would be locked. He sat there in his car wanting to bang his head with the steering wheel, his eyes not being able to control the water that fell. He single handily saw his house crumble, his heart wrenched at the thought of his poor mother. The only person to nurse his wounds or bring him to sanity after the hours of berating he received from his father for never being masculine enough. Swayam didn't know how his mother would ever take this, would she do what his sister just did. Just the thought made him shiver and cry harder. Their lay his sister battling with life and death because she didn't feel good for a man who wanted the artifice of an independent women. Swayam knew men, they all talk crap about wanting a strong women who isn't afraid to fight back. But, the truth was far from it. His conservative household was the utter illusion. Taani was raised in a conservative household, which had taught her how to behave like a lady. It's not her fault that she was given such a sh*tty upbringing, and by people where men are disguised as disgusting misogynistic bas***ds.

Here his 50 year old father was banging the brains out of the hooker, and there he was raising the women in his family to be subservient. If this wasn't bullsh*t then Swayam didn't know what was. Taani needed to see this truth, she needed to realise that this was exactly what was wrong in their life. She wasn't the problem, their upbringing was.

Swayam's father came out and sat beside him in the car. He saw Swayam's traumatised face, and tried to justify himself but Swayam raised his hand to stop him. "You don't get to talk, you only get to answer my questions" Swayam said. "Does maa know?" he asked, scared to hear what ever the answer was going to be. Swayam's father nodded. Of course she did, and he closed his eyes in pain. "I need to tell the family what's happened with Taani, her mother will need to know so she can come here" his father stated seriously. "No you aren't, you are coming to the hospital. Sign those forms and give a fatherly caress to her forehead and return to Jodhpur and not come here till I say you can. Not a word of this to the family" Swayam commanded with a certain ferocity that threw his father off. "How dare you talk to me like that?" his father asked with equal ferocity. "Well if you want the board members to find out about your little indiscretions you'll do exactly as I say" said Swayam replied while parking the car at the hospital. His father looked at him, he knew he had lost, and that his son wasn't going to be anymore subservient after what he had seen. He accepted it with no choice and decided to see Taani, and leave before Swayam could say more. Swayam waited on the seats outside while the doctor had received those forms and allowed Swayam and his father in her room. She looked so weak, and now was finally sleeping. His father did what he was told and caressed her head, and then quickly decided to leave before Swayam humiliated him anymore. As his father left he turned to give Swayam a final look. Swayam saw grief in those eyes, which he had never seen. It was pointless now, Swayam had singlehandedly lost his innocence in a span of an hour. He would never be the same person again. He looked at his sister and then again at his father, two people at the opposite end of the spectrum. Both suffering in unusual ways, one through being humiliated by the person she loved. The other through valuing everything else apart from the purest form of love. His son. Swayam saw his father close the door and then he turned to Taani and caressed her forehead.

She was stirring in her sleep. Slowly she opened his eyes to meet his and turned the other way to ashamed to face him. "It's okay, I'm not angry just talk to me" Swayam said lovingly. Taani looked at him with her light brown eyes, slowly brimming with tears. He held her hand tightly knowing very well why this was happening. Since childhood she had suffered from low self-esteem, which had been pushed to its limits in the past couple of days. But then again his own father had left no stone unturned for the terrible self-esteem issues he had. She had though never been taught to deal with her problems and face them head on. Their family had done them both an injustice, which was based on their own selfishness. "You can't do this to me Taani, if something had happened to you what would I have done" Swayam said with concern all over his face. "I just don't how to deal with this anymore bhai... I just don't want try anymore" Taani replied sadly. "I know it's rough but remember when we were six and we used to sit on that swing in Jhodpur. We made a pact that we would never leave each other, and you owe me that much" Swayam said earnestly. Taani's eyes further teared up. "I know, I guess I became too selfish" she said while trying to sit up. Swayam slowly tried to help her sit up. "You aren't the selfish one, trust me. I think we should start being more selfish like our stupid family" Swayam said seriously. "What are you trying to say?" Taani asked while trying to decode the reaction on his face. Swayam looked at Taani, he wanted her to know what his father was doing, and she alongside him had been kept in the dark for way to long. And now he was going to tell her, no more secrets to pull them down.

...

Present day:

Rey walked into the hospital and rushed to find Swayam. He saw him sitting outside Taani's room with his hands covering his face. Rey walked over and tapped him on the shoulder. Swayam looked up and straight away lunged to hug him. Rey was originally surprised by his reaction but quickly reiterated his affectionate move. "Where is she, is she okay" Rey asked anxiously. "Yeah they say she's stable... it's bad Rey" Swayam replied while still holding on to Rey. Rey closely looked at Swayam since he had come to the hospital. His eyes were bloodshot, hands fidgety and worst of all his shirt was covered in blood. Taani's blood. "Is that her...blood?" Rey asked Swayam while secretly knowing the truth. Rey knew he was not acting normal. These last weird couple of months were all starting to make sense, Swayam looked so out of it, and his reactions were slow and full of paranoia. Was he drugged? "Yeah she's in the room, don't get angry at her please. Just go see her" Swayam said while directing him to the room. "Aren't you going to see her?" Rey asked while noticing how anxious Swayam was getting. "She can't see me like this" Swayam said ashamed of his actions also while trying not to look at Rey's. "Rey, she's done this before" Swayam said slowly while looking down at the ground. "What, when... why didn't you say anything before?" Rey asked while trying not too overact at what Swayam had disclosed in front of him. "I couldn't... it was a while ago, it was a messed up situation" Swayam answered slowly. "I'm calling Sharon, you need her" Rey said while pulling out his phone. Swayam didn't even try and stop him. He knew he needed her but would she come? "She's coming, don't worry she hasn't told anyone" Rey said while putting his hand on his shoulder to show his support. Swayam knew the truth would come out one day, he was too ashamed to see how she would react. His downward spiral was now going to be disclosed and be on the table.

Rey walked into Taani's room with a heavy heart. Knowing that he had put her there, the guilt made him feel worse. Taani lay there on the bed with her arms covered up, it was bad. Swayam had said it was bad, but he didn't think it was going to be this bad. She looked frail. Rey had always known that Taani was a petite framed girl. But, he had never seen her so week. Like she had given up. Rey sat down in the chair close to her bed. He got up and gave her a kiss on her cheek, she slowly stirred in her sleep and slowly opened her eyes. Taani quickly got up. "No, don't get up... I'm sorry I didn't want to wake you... it's just I'm glad you're okay" Rey said softly. "Truth be told I didn't really aim at making at the other side of this conversation, I definitely didn't except the first person I would see would be you" Taani said in a failed attempt to create humour out of a dark situation. "I thought you wouldn't want to see me especially after... you know how I singlehandedly screwed up our lives by making you sleep with your best friend... and Bhai's only love" Taani continued on while trying not to look at him. "I wouldn't want to see you, are you serious I love you and I did this to you...Sorry isn't enough" Rey said while trying not to break down and held on to her hand tightly. "You did nothing to me... I did this too myself. I need help" Taani replied honestly while reiterating his gesture. In that moment Rey and Taani knew that they had both hurt each other in ways that were incomprehensible. But, they both knew that they would try to get through this... together.

I really didn't expect shekhawats to be such dogs. -_-
Swayam's dad. Like really? My god! And Taani attempted to suicide was so relatable and even swayam having drugs. That is the truth of today's youth. And I know so many indulged in these activities (sadly)
Well Taani had no reason to suicide. She had sex ok. Rey had sex ok. I'm liking the switch your showing in her character. Swayam indulged in drugs is interesting to read. And I would love to see how Sharon would react.
One thing they should make it clear in them that do they want mental pleasure or physical pleasure.
I'm loving it. The story took real good shape.
Well they are dam complicated characters I must say. Or I will say they are characters of the present generation.
Love the relatable aspects of the story.
Continue soon.
Thank you!
Love Ana ❤️

What a story...
I am just speechless and spellbound after reading this...the characters the situations everything s just so relatable...Justine request show a bit of their upbringing especially the scene of the swings in jodhpur.
I don't know what to write in the appraisal of this story... I just googled about LSD drugs...the effects were so rightly depicted. The change in the psychology of a person as one of the side effects. Then the upbringing of them to play a role in it. Se riously I don't know what I am writing now...but just one thing continue this story soon and do write more such stories.
One more thing the character of swayam...in your story is one such attempt I must applaud and the way you have portrayed is just brilliant
