Hola ! :)
Rey knew that Swayam had a sister , but he never knew that it was Taani .
They dont know each other for a long time but its not the background but the personality that attracted them towards each other .
So , Rey knew he had a sister but he wasn't aware of that sister being Taani .
I hope i've cleared your confusion . Also , whenever Swayam mentioned her he used - Meri behen , thus , avoiding the name :))
