I don't believe such a thing has actually happened. A writer - generally writing on a particular pair - comes up and decides to write something beyond the fan-base and actually bring out a strong story. Not just with mere romance but a character based, a bond based story. Something which has an essence of being a standout in itself.

Getting the rival fandoms female lead, involving her in the story and portraying her as a vital part of the story and GIVING a thought of having the rival fandom as the end pair. That's not something everyone would do. Only a writer who wishes to expand his scale of writing and expertise would go to an extent where excellence matters more than mere fandoms and pairings.

It's commendable to come across such a thought over the forum, Doesn't happen quite often. Hell it hardly happens.

Anyways, all the best with your story. And I would suggest you should write it as you wish. Pair any of the three or two or whatever the given choice is. Just make sure you know how to handle it and be firm with your decision.

Also you may choose it according to the count of readers you have.

And In case, in future you are stuck with such a situation - choose random names or better create new fiction names. A complete off-fandom series. Would help.

That's all what I can share.

All the best. :)

@prtn - Well, this would happen and will always continue to happen. That's the thing with people around, not everyone but yes there are people who won't accept it. But the fact is people need to see beyond the show. The creatives of the show have a particular characterization for the pair which tends them to like or dislike the pair.

And here we have people who look beyond the show-based characterization and bring out different shades to the characters. One needs to look at the beauty of the work and not the characters or any disliking one carries from the show.

Based on the show one might stick to the characters and pairs they like because there they know the plot and the character sketch well enough. But here it's a different case.

One only needs to stick to their decision to write. And readers need to broaden their outlook towards the write-up instead of fighting over the fiction pairs.

@White_flower - I will hopefully read it soon. Because the plot seems good. I really won't mind whom would you hook up Rey with in the end. Just pick the right character with strong inputs. Bas.
