The entry of the four new characters in D3 reminded me of the introduction of 4 other characters in the same show three years ago. Of those original four, two were played by actors who already had a huge fan following and rightly so. Shakti and Kunwar amar were stars albeit dancing stars, their chemistry on DID was already the stuff of dreams as was their obvious camaraderie off-screen. I have always loved them so I knew they wouldn't disappoint in D3 either and they didn't. I expected myself to follow the show for them but was surprised when the two other actors grabbed my heart instead. I started watching the show late and by then both Sneha and Shantanu were already groomed actors. Maybe that's why watching the initial episodes floored me so completely, I couldn't have imagined in my wildest dreams that those two would mature into such wonderful actors. Their entry in the show was so contrasting that no one would have thought one day those two characters would mesh together so well that they would seem made for each other. Sharon's entry was full of attitude and style, loud and flamboyant while Swayam's was so low key I had to spend 15 mins searching through videos to figure out which was his first scene! Sharon had a red sports coupe while Swayam got a cycle! Sharon was all confidence while Swayam was all meekness. Sharon ruled and knew it while Swayam defined being a wallpaper. Sneha and Shantanu were raw and inexperienced yet there was a refreshing novelty about them. With time that rawness melted away and their talent bloomed. Together they gave form to the most beautiful love story on Indian television. Their differences became their strength and weakness. Their talent flourished as they strove to keep up with each other in their scenes. Their brilliance seemed to bounce off each other. It was difficult to say who was better in which scene since the scale was forever shifting. While Sneha's prowess forced us to fall in love with a bitch, Shantanu's genius made the majnu's transformation to the cold and angry young man believable.
Television is a visual medium and as such every writer needs actors to give a face and voice to his characters. Sharon and Swayam were created by the CVs and they were brilliant but this brilliance would have been lost in translation had they not found two gems in Sneha Kapoor and Shantanu Maheshwari to bring them to life on screen.
I know a lot of members here started watching D3 late too. So I invite you all to tell us about your first impressions of TanHa and how they changed as the story progressed.
