First of all, I know this OS is kind of short but I stretched it as much as I could. Trust me. Secondly, I had promised an FF around mid May so here it is. The link to the FF:

SwaRon OS: That First Night

It had already been four hours since Swayam first started cursing Sharon for not being there with him. He was attending New Year's bash. All his friends were busy dancing and he was busy missing Sharon.

"Why did she have to go to Delhi? Why didn't she stay with me?" he muttered bitterly. He knew it was selfish of him to want her to spend time only with him and not with her dad but it's okay to be selfish sometimes right? And it was not exactly that he had told this to her, he was simply cribbing to himself about it.

Finally after deciding that he had tested his patience enough, he dialed her number. It ringed thrice before she picked up the phone and Swayam could swear she took forever to do so.

"Hello?" Sharon's voice immediately made him forget all his irritation and a silly smile plastered on his face. "Hello? Swayam?" He heard her voice from the other end.

"Why are you not here?" he complained like a little kid.

He heard Sharon chuckle. "So you find my misery funny?" He demanded.

"Okay now. You don't have to act so dramatic. I am coming back soon enough."

"But I miss you."

"And I love you."

Swayam smiled as the words spread a pleasant warmth through his body. "I love you too... Wait..." he noticed the noise of honking of cars, "Are you on the road?"

"Er... Yeah... Anyway... why did you call me?"

"I miss my girlfriend. Isn't that obvious."

"Well as it happens, you don't have to let your so called misery' come in your way at the party. Why don't you enjoy it, rather than talking to me."

"It's been a week I haven't seen you. I can't concentrate on anything. And secondly, I am hell bored here."

"Ummm... Okay... So let's see. Look around you." Sharon instructed.

Swayam stood up straight and looked around. "What am I supposed to see?" he asked uncertainly.

"The people outside the center area. There are always interesting people around."

Swayam looked around.

Sharon said, "Is there a guy flexing his muscles trying to impress nearby girls?" Swayam searched for such a guy and indeed there was one guy with steroid fed built. "Seriously, what's so amazing about six pack abs... it makes it look like someone's placed balloons inside the skin. It's horrible." Sharon said.

"Hey, it's the signature of being a man." Swayam defended half laughing.

"Yeah right..." Sharon taunted. "Anyway, now look for a guy staring jealously or in awe of the previous one."

He immediately found that one. A skinny, frail looking guy who was practically drooling on his biceps. Swayam let out a snort. "I guess you found him." Sharon laughed.

"Now look to your immediate left and right. You will find a group of girls staring at you giggling."

He turned around and saw them, a couple of girls staring at him and giggling'. He turned red, giving a sheepish smile before turning away.

"Er... there's no such girl around."

"Liar. I have seen them in college as well. You really have no idea of the kind of female attention you get."

Swayam now felt his ears feeling hot. "Er... tell me the next thing."

Sharon chuckled. "Okay, look for an idiot standing in one corner of the party doing a stupid thing like talking to his girlfriend."

"Okay..." he looked around and then realizing her meaning, "Hey!"

Sharon laughed again. "And now look to your left." She said very softly. He turned and a smile lit up his face, as he saw his Sharon walk towards him looking as beautiful as ever. It seemed with every step she took everything around her started to glow.

She walked up to him with a smile playing on her lips. Swayam kept gazing at her, without uttering a single syllable.

"What?" Sharon asked finally.

"How did you..."

"I came back right now. So decided to surprise you."

Swayam smiled again.

After a while, Sharon said, "What? Are you going to ask me for a dance or not?"

Swayam snapped back to present and mumbled, "Er... Yeah... Er..."

Sharon rolled her eyes. "Oh just shut up." She caught hold of her hand and pulled him to the dance floor.

The song had long back changed to romantic number as the clock struck eleven forty five presently.

Sharon placed his hands on her waist and hers on his shoulder as they slowly waltzed on the dance floor. They wordlessly kept dancing looking into each other's eyes. After quite some time Swayam finally said, "I am glad you are back."

"Yeah me too."

"So the countdown begins..." They heard the announcement. They turned to look at the countdown on the huge screen provided.

"Five... Four... Three... Two... One..."

"Happy New Year!" Everyone shouted in chorus.

Suddenly Sharon felt a jerk as Swayam pulled her taking her to a secluded area.

"Happy new year, my love." Swayam whispered in her ears.

Soon the lights went out as the sky was lit up with crackers.

"Happy New Year" Sharon whispered and Swayam bent down to kiss her, their first kiss in the New Year.
