No, it wasn't in ANY way better than the ArSha KJ. It was a perfect college day performance- brilliant dancing, famous song. Story-wise, perhaps it would've been smarter to choose a different song. A song that depicted their exact situation instead of a song which meant the exact opposite of where they are now.

But that, the fact that KJ is the exact opposite of their situation now while 2 years back KJ would've defined KriYaansh, made the dance bittersweet for me.

I'm sure unn logon ne yeh nahi socha hoga. ArSha peobably just wanted to give their fans a treat. But mere dimaag mein kal se yahi chalra tha. First I was just worried ke KJ is ArSha, why are they associating it with KriYaansh? How does it fit their situation at all? It doesn't. And it does.

2 years back: This is exactly what Rey was like. Before thinking of how any situation would affect him and his friends, he'd think about what it's consequences would be for Kria. He did basically worship her!

Present: This isn't what Rey wants to be like, he wants to hate her. But has he really been able to? A lot has changed but when you dig deeper, how much has really changed?

2 years back: Remember what Kria used to be like? Her dream, her dance always came first.

"Main stage pe apne toote pair se dance karoongi...par haar NAHIN manoongi"

This is from the bike incident where she accused Rey of wanting to break her leg before the competetion. (Watched the video and got the exact dialogue😆)

We saw her evolve. From being the person who wanted to win the dance competition more than anything else we saw her fall in love and grow into the person who told the love of her life

"Main sacchi mein chaahti hoon ki aap yeh competetion jeeto. So, best of luck."

(Just before the last KriYaansh dance before she went away)

Kria ke liye Rey was everything. Even her having to leave Mumbai became more about Rey and less about her!

Present: Do I even need to explain? Nothing has changed for Kria. She did dance on her tooti pair. But she didn't do it for herself. She did it for Rey, for her friends and for her college (in that order).

(I'll admit it pissed me off a lot of times ke the girl doesn't seem to have moved on at all. The fact that Rey seems to have no true understanding of her doesn't affect her at all? I'm hoping against hope that she'll stop with the Rey-jhaap when she gets to know about T)

And these lines, for me, are an indication of the future. Rey's falling in love with her all over again. But will he be able to trust her again?

Basically what I mean to say is, this song seems to make a mock of what KriYaansh were and what they are now. And even if that wasn't the intention, it makes the dance beautiful for me.

Either I've said something very smart or it's all total BS. Probably the latter. 😆
