Step 1: The flower ceremony
Ok I know many of y'all will wonder what is this...i thought I'll introduce this rasm which is usually done in Muslim weddings...i saw this on another serial...loved the concept of this ceremony so i thought i'll add it. No religious offense intended.
"Sharon..." Swayam's mom Radha, called out. "Ji..." sharon called back, poking her head out of the door of Taani's ex room. "Tum tayar hogayi bete?" radha asked. "Nahi aunty, kuch aur time lelungi mein..." she replied. *Shuffle shuffle* Swayam entered through the window and hid himself under the bed. "Jaldi aa o rasm shuru karni hai" radha replied. "Ji." sharon replied, and closed the door, happily unaware Swayam was in the room. "Pehla nasha, pehla khumar, naya pyaar hai naya intezaar..." she sang, and after sometime started humming as she'd forgotten the lines. She rummaged her bag for her clothes and jewllery, humming ish wala love now. She found the lehenga, that she'd bought for the occasion. She smiled looking at it, imagining his reaction when he would see her in the lehenga. She held the skirt close, looked into the mirror and asked an imaginary swayam, "Acchi lagungi na mein iss lehenga mein?" Swayam who was watching the scene unfold from under the bed said, "Bohot achi..." in a lost voice. Sharon still thinking its her imagination, replied, "Ab jao yahan se, mujhe change karni hai", while Swayam realised what happened and thinking he was caught came out from under the bed, until he heard her speak, "Jao na...ok teek hai mein 10 tak count karungi, meri aankhe khulne se pehla tum yahan se Jana hai k?" her imaginary Swayamnodded and she started counting. His mind immediately came up with a plan, he came out and stood still like a statue with a huge grin on his face. "9...10! Ready or not mein aankhe khul rahi hoon!" she said and opened her eyes, only to find him still standing as she had imagined. "What the hell swayam! Meine kaha jao yahan se!" she yelled. His grin widened on hearing her yell, after sooo many days she was back in her siren mode. "Sharon, tum tayar ho ki nai?" radha's voice floated up the stairs. "Ji, mein 2 minute mein aaungi" she replied. "Ab mein kya karun?" she moped, "I can't change not with my imagination running wild!!" she exclaimed. "Say that you love me" swayam said. 'That's weird, my imaginary swayam can't talk unless I imagine him to...' thinking how was this possible she kept looking at him still unaware he was indeed there for real. Suddenly she gasped, "Kya tum sach mein...nai ye nahi ho sakta...chalo mein meri aanke bandh kar kar change karungi" she told herself and was about to start when suddenly, "Sharon!! Tum ye kya kar rahi ho? Shaadi se pehle..." his voice floated. She opened her eyes in shock. "Tum!! Yahan?! Kya kar rahe ho?!!" she yelled realisation striking her when he'd exclaimed out loud. "Ssshhh sharon...koi sun lega" he said urgently, clamping his hand on her mouth. "She just looked in anger. "Oh sorry.." he said looking at his hand, realising why she wasn't screaming at him...yet. "Kya samajh kar raka hai apne aapko? Aur tum kyun aaya? Agar tumhari mom aagayi tho?..." she went on. He quickly pulled out a gift wrapped box and an almost dead rose and gave it to her, "Ye dene ke liye..." he said quietly looking into her eyes. "ye kya hai?" she asked. "Khul ke dekho na.." he replied smiling at the way he'd diverted her attention. She opened it to find a pair of earrings. They looked more like dainty little crytalline peacocks. She felt his breath next to her ear,his arms around her waist. "Kya zarurat Thi?" she asked still pleased by the fact he'd got her something. "Meri khoobsurat honewali biwi ke liye peacocks, kyunki they're the prettiest of Indian birds." he murmered into her ear. "they're so pretty and elegant" she murmered stroking the earrings. "Not as much as you" he whispered into her ears, making her shudder a bit and close her eyes. She twisted in his arms and was leaning in for a feel of his lips. "Sharon bete kitni time aur?" radha's voice came up, making her jump in shock. She pushed away Swayam and replied,"Ji aa rahi hoon, 2 minutes" hurriedly. "Abh jao...aur mujhe tayyar karne do." she said getting tensed up. "Aww mujhe mera return gift nahi mila" he pouted. "Teek hai Baba" she said and hurriedly gave him a peck on his cheeks. "Abh jao" she said. "Nahi mujhe yahan chahiye" he said pouting and pointing towards his lips. Blood rose to her cheeks, and she told him, "nahi, abhi nahi, punishment hai, meri room mein aane ke liye." "Teek hai tho phir mein lelunga, itni accha mauka hai, agar tumne nahi diya tho mein cheen kar lelunga." he smiled a wicked grin and went towards her. She stepped back one step for every step he took. Finally unable to move back any further, thanks to the wall she stopped. He smiled and stepped forward gave her a gentle peck on her lips, leaving her wanting for more. 'Wo tumhari punishment hai, mera reward cheene ke liye" saying that he winked and left through the window. She smiled and got ready.
Swayam waited for her below the stairs, reliving the few minutes they'd spent sometime back. He looked dashing as usual in a red sherwani. He smiled and smiled and everyone knew why. "Beta, thoda tho control karo...sab log dekh rahe hai" his dad had come by his side. "Uncle Swayam tho kho gaya, as usual, he lives up to his tag uncle, majnu" Vicky said patting him on his back. Sharon was ushered into the hall decorated with flowers of all types. One didn't simply call the function jashn e bahara. It was a flower ceremony and all one could see was flowers. She'd worn a pink lehenga, with a silver border, and the works were done elegantly in gold. It was subtle and it was simple, perfectly suited for Swayam's liking. She was made to sit on the sofa kind of seat and Swayam sat next to her. And the ceremony commenced. He was given a garland of flowers which had to be put around her neck. He looked at her and they shared an eye lock. Not once did it waver. His eyes drank in her beauty, while hers just feasted on him. After putting the garland, the gang and both the families together had to cough to get then out of their trance. And then out of the blue the electricity went off. Luckily, someone had already thought of it and had lit candles too. She looked even more etheral in the candlelight, more like a goddess. The candlelight emphasized on her face, and bought out all her delicate features. Everything he loved. They didn't notice when the rose petal shower had begun. They were filled with rose petals falling over them, like blessings from above. The entire hall stood still admiring the couple who were lost in each other. When the lights came on, they'd to get up. It was time for the gift exchange. Swayam gave her a pretty necklace that he fastened around her neck. It was elegant just like the earring, designed like a peacock. It fit her neck perfectly. She gave him book. A scrapbook rather, her version filled with pictures of him. Him dancing, him laughing, every aspect of him...but the last few pages were blank. He looked up at her questioningly. To which she replied, "Sirf ye aspects nahi hai...aur bhi hai, as a father, grandfather...aur kuch". He hugged her and whispered into her ear, "Thank you so much sharon, I love you" she whispered back "As I love you". While the entire hall cheered the couple stayed in the same position for quite sometime.
