And Ranveer Singh was never the same anymore after that day
Part 2
She heard a dull thud and felt a sharp pain in the side of her head. She had hit her head on the side of the boat. Before she could even fully acknowledge the pain, she was submerged in ice cold water.
The coldness of it shocked her to the core and she felt her brain go numb. For a few seconds, her body remained still, trying to recover from the shock and the pain. Her head was already underwater. Summoning all her strength, she began to swim towards the surface.
But the raging sea had no intention of letting her go. It came at her with all its might. The current was strong and it thrashed her and whipped her and knocked the air out of her. Her survival instincts kicked in and she moved her arms and legs trying to brave the sea. She even managed to get to the surface, where she took in a lungful of air. But the dark sea wasn't through with her. It dragged her back inside, once again pulling and pushing her like a rag doll.
Her strength was diminishing and her arms and legs felt tired. Still she persevered. She had to.
For him.
His face filled her mind, rejuvenating her. She couldn't just die without seeing him at least one more time. Without hearing his voice one more time. Without feeling his touch one more time. She couldn't. She had no idea why she couldn't. She just knew that she couldn't.
So she struggled.
But the dark sea was unrelenting. It was thriving to kill. It dragged her further inside. Deep down where no light penetrated, thanks to the hour. Her limbs refused to move anymore. Her body was begging her to stop struggling. Her mind told her that it was useless.
But her heart was beating furiously, encouraging her to fight back. Refusing to give up.
What about the heart that beats only for this one? Did you think about that? If I stop beating what will happen to him? Whispered her heart.
Great! Now she could hear her heart talking! This really must be the end.
She found it impossible to hold her breath any longer. With a gurgling sound, that no one could hear, she felt the oxygen leave her lungs and bubble into nothingness. Instead, her empty lungs were now being rapidly filled with the saline sea water. She felt a burning sensation in her throat and her lungs.
That is when the flashes started. They occurred rapidly, but to her each one of them seemed crystal clear. Her parents, her friends, all the beautiful memories and the sad and painful ones too- everything appeared before her like a series of flickering pictures.
But the memories most dominant among them were all related to him. She saw his face, so clear and prominent, as if she had never really seen him before. His chocolate brown eyes and his kind and endearing smile. How could she have not seen that before? The goodness in him. The kindness of his heart. The passion in his eyes. The purity of his love. How could she have missed that?
Maybe that's why this was happening to her. Maybe she deserved to die. She had hurt him one too many times and she had this coming to her.
And then the pain started. It wasn't physical pain. It was mental agony. She felt the pain he felt, every time she had hurt him. Every time she had insulted him, mocked him, hurt him, now furiously stabbed her heart, like pins and needles.
She wondered why it affected her so much now. And almost simultaneously her heart answered her query.
You love him.
Of course, she loved him. She loved every bit of him. As much as she had tried to run from his love, it had caught up with her. She couldn't run now and she couldn't hide.
The joyous revelation didn't last long as she realized that she would never get the chance to tell him that. He would never know how much she loved him. She just wished that she could tell him just once.
And the thought of never telling him that, brought a greater pain with it. The regret she felt was profound. Wasn't death supposed to be painless? Peaceful? It wasn't supposed to hurt! She thought.
But it did hurt. It hurt like hell.
Finally it became too much for her to endure. So she let the sea drag her to its dark recesses- just to stop the pain. She slowly sank as the blackness rushed over her-putting an end to her misery.
