Yeah, none of us know whats with Kriya's mom...and most of us have been angry, jolted and heartbroken at the way Kriya was treated in yesterday's episode.
So I was just wondering, what could be the reason behind such an irrational outburst from a 40-45 yrs old? And I am sure there has to be a really good reason, because Smriti seems to be a rather caring, affectionate and sane mom otherwise đ
I am guessing [and purely gussing] here...so see if you agree with me.
When in college, Smriti was an awesome dancer...just like Kriya. And her boyfriend in college - an equally amazing dancer - was Gautam Rai Prakash - Sharon's dad. Their college must also have been in Mumbai [or some other big city like Delhi or B'lore] which is why Smriti was always wary of Kriya's plans to come to Mumbai in the first place.
Ok, so Smriti and Gautam had a dreamy thing going back then - dancing and romancing...just like Rey and Kriya. Which is why Smriti did not hit off well with Rey since the first day, because mother's insticts told her this guy likes her daughter more than a friend...and she found similarities in him and the young Gautam Rai Prakash [rich, popular, dancer, and all].
Coming back to the flashback, soon when college got over, Gautam and Smriti planned to eventually get married. But Gautam's parents probabely did not agree [the ooold "Battle of Backgorunds and class"], although he must have tried pretty hard, but ultimately had to give in to his parents wishes, and marry Sharon's mother. But by that time Smriti and Gautam must have gone a bit too ahead...so here she was - heartbroken, alone, and preggers.
So she might have had a really tough time dealing with her crushed heart, and looking for ways to support herself and her child. Which she eventually managed also, really well, as a balanced single mother.
But then later, she saw Kriya's inclination for dance...which reminded Smriti of Gautam, and her own painful bygones...and then when she saw Kriya actually dancing...WITH Rey [who as I said reminds Smriti strongly of her relation with Gautam]... I think everything came back to her at once, and in an anticipation and desperation to protect her daughter from going through similar experiences as she had... her reaction came out rather harsh.
I mean this is what I think could be the reason for the whole flipping that happened yesterday...lets see what the CV's have for us. What do you think?
