Colourful performances in Zee Rishtey Awards

Mumbai: Zee television celebrated its most popular awards Zee Rishtey Awards 2011 on 26^th November at Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai. It is an award ceremony that celebrates the bond that Zee TV has been sharing with its viewers since the past 19 years. To celebrate this occasion allt he stars of the Zee family came under the same roof. It is this relationship that has taken the channel from strength to strength and helped sustain its popularity among the television audiences in the country. This year, the award ceremony celebrated Rishton Ki Khoobsurat Rang. The awards ceremony acknowledged members of the Zee family whose support has been noteworthy in winning hearts of the audiences over so many years.

The evening started with an entire constellation of stars and noted luminaries of the entertainment industry. Some of the eminent names who witnessed the event were Poonam Dhillon, brother duo – Rohit Roy and Ronit Roy, singer, Adnan Sami and the very ravishing Urmila Matondkar. The event was also attended by the Golden Man Bappi Lahiri, controversy queen Rakhi Sawant and television heartthrobs, Shahrad Kelkar and Ejaz Khan. The event was hosted by anchors Jay Bhanushali and Karan V. Grover and Mona Singh. Some of the most memorable performances of the evening included a dance performance by Ankita Lokhande and Hiten Tejwani, audiences very own Archana and Manav of Pavitra Rishta. Lovely (Ragini Nandwani), the chulbuli bahu of Mrs. Bindeshwari Kaushik of Mrs Kaushik aur unki Paanch Bahuye. There was one fun filled act where Hitler Didi's family sang a parody of songs for her in an attempt to bring a smile on her face.

The evening also had its own share of historical drama on stage with the Shobha Somnath Ki leads, Shobha and Bhimdev swaying to a romantic number and later fighting the evil Ghaznavi (Vikramjeet Virk). The event was also peppered with comedy acts and gags by Ali Azgar and Suresh Menon. The decibel levels reached its peak when dancing superstars of Dance India Dance – Shakti, Salman, Mayuresh, Alisha and Falon along with Mentor Remo D'Souza, Geeta Kapoor and Terence Lewis rocked the floor with their mind boggling performances. This was a lead in to the return of the Bigger, Better and Crazier edition of Dance India Dance Season 3 that will soon air on Zee TV!

Apart from the spectacular performances, Zee Rishtey Awards gave away awards under the catagories of Favourite Jodi, Favourite Parivaar, Favourite Popular Face-Male, Favourite Popular Face-Female, Favourite Mata-Pita, Favourite Beta, Favourite Beti, Favourite Bhabhi, Favourite Saas-Bahu Rishta, Favourite Bhai, Favourite Behen, Favourite Saas-Sasur. The event also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of the artistes who are Zee TV's pillars of strength.
