Who was Chandragupta Maurya?
Well there are many stories regarding the Background of CGM. Here I would be giving various details out of which I felt only one option might be correct.
Story 1:
CGM was the son of a Nanda Prince and a Sudra Women Moora devi. For sometime they lived in the Palace later were exiled from the kingdom after the death of the Nanda prince.
This story might not be correct as we all know that if he were of Nanad's then he cannot marry Nanda's daughter. And we know that his father was Maurya's.
Story 2:
CGM's father who was of Maurya's had a small kingdom which was later occupied by Nanda and killed CGM's father. Moora along with her son CGM moved away with her brother to Pippilivan where they teemed peococks.
Most of tv series and articles were shown with this story. And many agreed with this story.
Story 3:
CGM's grand father who was of Maurya's had a small kingdom which was later occupied by Nanda. Nanda killed him. CGM's father became Commander-in-chief in Nanda kingdom. . Later after Chanak and Shaktar's incidents he exiled from Magadh and reached to Pippilivan with his wife and lately born son Chandu. In Pippilivan they teemed peococks along with Agriculture.
Even this story was also supported in which it was written that CGM's father was also alive when he throned Magadh's singasan.
Story 4:
When CGM's father was killed Moora was pregnant and ran away to save herself and Chanakya saved her and he took a promise of giving her son to him after he attains certain age.
We are not sure of this story at all. Because Chanakya was in Pataliputra during those incidents.
Still there are many for which I felt the stories wouldn't be right.
So I will be taking Story 3 in my updates where CGM's father was Senapati Maurya and was alive.
The King & The Subjects
Chanakya was observing the boys and their game and the discussions are in this way:
Boy: Maharaj Chandragupta ki jai ho!
CGM: Uska aparadh kya hai?
B: Ye nagariko par akraman kar unhe lootne ka prayas kiya hai.
CGM: Nagarik! Kya tumhe apna apradh swikar hai?
Nagarik: Mein nirdhosh hun Maharaj!
CGM: Jhooth mat bolo nagarik! Yadi kisipar bhi anyay hua hai, iska pap ka bhagidar bhi mein banunga
N: Maharaj mujhe kshama karde...
CGM: Nagarik! Praja ki jeevan aur vuska sampathi ka raksha karna mera pradham kartavya hai Athah tumhe kshama nahi kar sakta!
Mantri var! Ise ek maas keliye karavas mein dal diya jaye!
B: Par raajan ee Magadh ka nahi Malav janpadh ka nagarik hai, athah ise kada dhandh diya jaye
CGM: Mantrivar apni maryada ka bhang mat karo;
Mere rajya mein koi Magadh, koi Malav, koi vechvi, koi Panchal nahi aur kuru koi nahi!
Mere Samrajya ki seemaye ko koi janpad baat nahi kar saktha; Dharm ki vyavastha manav ko kaat nahi sakti!
Meri dristi mein sabhi ek hai, sabhi bharateey hai yaad rahe bhavisya mein punaah,
aisi pravruthi ko poshan karne vale baatho ko nyay mein punah vutaya nahi jaye.
That bright 'king' had fair complexion, large eyes, a pointed nose and rosy cheeks. The red piece of the cloth festooned around his hair looked fabulous. His demeanour, voice and gait had the stamp of royality all over him. Chanakya couldn't imagine a teenager 'acting so authoritatively. In lighter vein Chanakya joined the queue of the 'petitioners' and when his turn came, the 'king', was undaunted by the sudden appearance of a grown up.
CGM: Aur tumhara shikayath kya hai, ajnabi?
C: Maharaj! Mein bhooka hoon!
CGM: Koi bhi gaaye ka dhoodh lekar tum pee sakthe ho!
C: Magar uss gaaye ka malik mujhe dandh nahin dega?
CGM: Woh kaun hai jo Samrat Chandragupta ka adesh palan karne walo ko dandh dey sakhe! Bina kisi dhar ke apna paet bharlena. Tumhe mere shabdh hai.
Chanakya was delighted to have met such a self-confident boy. He was about ot ask who the boy was when Senapati Maurya's wife called out from her window: "Chandu! Abhinay karna bandh karo aur kahane keliye chale aao. Saath mein uss sajjan ko bhi leke aao."
'Tho ye Senapati Maurya's ka beta hai! Vasthav mein ek ujjwal balak hai!' thought Chanakya as he moved with the boy towards the house.
"Tumhara Acharya kaun hai balak?" asked Chanakya
'Mere Mata Pita!'answered Chandu.
"kya tum koi vidhyalay mein bhag lene nahi jaoge?"
"Pataliputra mein prarambhik sabhak tha! Lekin yaha koi vidhyalay nahin hein. Isliye mein apna mata pita se siksha graham karta hun aur jyadatar apna maa sey, kyunki mere pita kheth ki kaam mein vyasth rahatha hai."
The lady said apologetically: "ee vasthav mein bahut shararthi ladka hai! Mein mafi chahtha hun, tumhe tang tho nahi kiya na Chanakya".
"Nahi aarya! Mujhe acha laga!"
"Aai! Woh apne dam par khel mein shaamil hua hai! Hum ne aamnatrit nahi kiya!" Chandu protested.
"Tik hai sab! Ab shabdh nahi bhedi! Jao jakar modak khao aur dhoodh pilo!"
Soon the lady brought some food and milk for Chanakya and sat near him. Chandu finished his meals very quickly and went out to play again.
