i think whenever war happens all these things like looting etc is always common...local people of the place suffer the most...all these things happened even when Iraq was attacked by America..during the Vietnamese war..as well as when India and pakistan were divided...situations were more than horrible ...although not to the extent it used to happen at the olden times of kings...i mean all of them were warriors...it was their job to fight,..what else they could do...all this looting and cruelty occurred at the time of Asoka too...when he started his mission of conquer...I don't think alexander was named great because of his personal good or bad qualities...the only reason was that he conquered the whole Asia on the strength of his sword...although the way he did was quite unethical...but still conquering the world (which people at that time used to think was limited to asia only) not an easy task..and that too at such a young age...and he is the only person in the world jiske naam k aagey vishwavijeta lagta hai
