You can make it a C&C&N Vs Greek Trio Match. That way, you could have a few short and meaningful Chandini scenes where they work together along with Chanakya to crack this situation. Just think about it. You need not exclude Nandini fully. You could keep her in the loop as well.

Hayee, I have someone on my side. Now, you really must consider.😆

So this is basically for the uninitiated and those who don't know what a devil's trap is. Sangeeta, since you have named your story as such, I am assuming that you know its literary and figurative significance.

The devil's trap is a mystical symbol used to immobilize and control demons. It is similar to a circle of salt but more powerful and persistent as it is usually etched or painted in place, and can't simply be brushed or blown away. If a demon walks inside the outer circle of a devil's trap, it cannot physically leave it, and is trapped.

Devil's traps also inhibit the use of some demonic powers. Devil's traps have been used not only to detain a demon, but are also drawn at entrances as a deterrent to prevent access to a building, room, or container.

The first and most original use of such a devil's trap is in the 17th century text, The Lesser Key of Solomon. It contains rituals and spells for invoking and controlling both demons and angels. Most of our recent supernatural thrillers and novels have one form or the other of them.

There are two major variations of devil's traps in Supernatural:

1. The Heptagram

It is composed of two pentacles that form a heptagram.

The Grand Pentacle:"It serves to convene all spirits; when shown to them they will bow and obey you".

The Fifth Pentacle of Mars:"it is terrible unto the demons, and at its sight and aspect they will obey thee, for they cannot resist its presence"

2. The Pentagram

The pentagram devil's trap is the one most commonly seen, and is a simplification of the Grand Pentacle.

While demons can enter a devil's trap without being aware of its presence, they cannot exit it as long as the trap remains intact. There appears to be no specific medium required for the trap to work; characters have drawn traps in ink, blood, ash, or carved them into stone, expressing no preference for one over the other and simply using what works in their current circumstances. Traps can be drawn on the ground below the demon or the ceiling above it, but traps on small objects must be in direct contact with the demon to be effective. Traps can remain intact if an object has fallen over the lines drawn on the ground, or if something is concealing the trap from view, such as a carpet, but they cease to be effective if the trap's lines are broken; methods for doing this vary between scoffing the paint and ash that created the trap to driving a knife into the trap.

It will be a treat to see how you will get your devils in the story into this devil's trap and defeat them Sangeeta.

Thank you. As for the post, most of it is Wiki gyan. I just remembered this figure of speech in supernatural movies and shows. So did a Google search to find more. Thought it would interest all of you. I too observed that I became a Dazzler just now. All this while, I was a Goldie.

Shailu, I dint know all these details about the Title. Thanks !! Always a pleasure to learn new things.

Honestly, I dint think so much about the title. The plot, my thought process on the characters dint allow me to sleep.. so much, that I wanted to pour all the thoughts into writing and POST IT first..

I have watched a few of the Supernatural series, where the brothers always work in tandem to trap a demon or a devil inside the circle; and the demon / devil will always manipulate the outsider to break free out of the circle. And when they break free, their anger and revenge is always Doubled.

This is a similar situation, where Helena and Apama were weaving a trap against CCN, and have now fallen inside the honey trap themselves. They cannot be detained for a longer period but also have to be kept in control. Which is why I thought of naming the story "The Devil's Trap".

A bit unceremonious, to start with a devil, for a maiden attempt, dont you think ? 😉

One word, "wow", ,mazaa aa gaya!
too good ya sangeetha.

I really loved your penning style in this update, no dialogues and just thought process, and a thought process so accurate.Your grasp on the characters are so perfect. one more thing which I liked was the fact that it focused on CC vs greek , and how other characters have a passive appearance. I know probably later they will participate actively, but as of now, I really appreciate it.

the update was very crisp. I can see it is a four short. So, I will come back when you have updated the last part, so that I can read in one go.

Thank you, Alanta.

I actually thought of a Vishkanya track. But I was scared that the VK track will end before I finish. 😆
Then I thought of Chandini Anger-Appease Plot - but Aish and Niki are already writing on it.
That's why I chose a future plot.
I so want that Appu to get out of india, and fight with her own sauten.
