Avantika your Nandini is very complex. She has layers and layers to her. This present chapter was just an illustration of this fact. The incident about the courtesan you narrated in this context was very revealing of her mentality which brooks no opposition, her regal pride, and her emotional excesses when things do not go according to her. She is not a person who will brook any kind of neglect or disappointment. She is ambitious, self-loving, narcissistic and myopic in her vision. She cannot see beyond herself and her happiness. All this has to be attributed to her pampered upbringing. These days, her world goes round Chandra. So she is intolerant of anybody else in his world. Very intriguing!

As written in my previous post, i somehow feel that your Nandini character needs a bit more homework. But that's the readers view.

These upcoming tracks in tv have affected me so that,i am unable to think next part..feeling so bad with chandra poisoning,nandini jailed etc and roopa hatching plan...as I myself a writer i cannot tolerate such violent butchering of any character beyond a point... since jan i am seeing that story had stopped.. just as oasis in vast dessert we had really beautiful episodes this week..again from mon we have to c mu,hate etc more than that roopa...i am planning myself a nazarband,but habits die hard.. thats y iam loitering in this forum... my toddler also expects too much attention these days..she snatches pen and paper if i start to write...i think yesterday cn would be my last episode...planning to end seeing serial in a happy note... usually i dont care any cvs,but shwraj made me change rules.

Chapter 13

Chandra gupt with all of his team and family were back to Pataliputra.Palace was full of hassle and tussle since royal family came to Palace. Preparation was going on full swing for Vasanth utsav. However ,Nandini did grab a opportunity to visit her Krishna temple. The temple was quiet far away from main town .It was situated in laps of river Ganga. The atmosphere was always peaceful and serene. To reach the Inner sanctum you have to cross 3 gates. Yes ,Gates of May,moh and Lob as Krishna said in Srimad Bhagawad Gita.Nandini upon seeing her Krishna,bent her head in reverence. After finishing worshiping she happened to see the floor of temple,which was quiet unclean.
"Putri,Nandini,Today cleaning lady did not come to temple... So it is like this.."Pujari bit his words while speaking to Nandini,thinking that it would upset her.
"Pujari Ji,All are humans only.. So what If she does not come.. I will clean myself. Quickly she grabbed the broom and cleaned the Temple.Pujari was not surprised ,He knows Nandini does not like preferential treatment outside her palace. In fact she would condemn If anyone addresses her Rajkumari . She humbly asks her to be addressed as Nandini. Nandini was always remembered her as Kindhearted princess among Magadhvasis. She never ever raised her voice during interaction with people. She always loveth her people.Though it was not much help for people when Nand hiked taxes,but she never let anyone turn back when someone asks anything be it money for daughter's marriage or medicine fees . Her dasis or citizen whom she knew used to come from far places to meet her in this very temple and seek her help.

Nandini completed her cleaning task and suddenly she noticed a metallic sound of a object falling from her hair. She realized that it was her small knife which she used to hide in her long plaited well decorated hair. Yes,the very weapon she once took it as last resort to annihilate Chandra. She took dreadful wows to kill him during her nuptials. Today,the knife of hers is still sitting idle waiting for her orders. Nandini with rapt attention and spoke herself"Myself ,Nandini daughter of Padmanand,what happened to you"

I dont know,why I felt agitated and uncomfortable when He came racing into her chambers on the night of her wedding. He threatened andaccused me why even said unto me that he would make my life hell forever. But me,Nandini celeberated daughter of Nand dratted tears instead of attacking him. What happened to me... This is not my nature,... On other day when he demanded physical intimacy, I resisted for sometime but It was I who surrendered to him without asking any questions or doubts... Why did I tend his bleeding wound. Why Nandini, Why did I feel bad when He ignored me..he had made me so weak,that even in my deep sleep,I supported him when my very own father waged an attack during Night.. I know Chandragupt.. That it was not my father,but a cleverly executed plan of Chanakya,. I did not ask you the reason behind that plot of yours.. Was it to test my love...ALl these days I though t that this tiny winy knife would help me whenever someone attacked me .Today,I am not in need of this tiny knife.. I know that you will always stand for me...Nandini I think this feeling which makes your world upside down is Called Love... Yes it is blind... I love you Chandragupt,though I always knew that you are using me as a weapon against my father,Still I dont find any fault on your side to hate you... You have lots of admirable qualities which always drews me to you.. YOu are non alcoholic and dont snatch other man's lady.. Like my father and brother,,,,You have heart made of gold... Magadh people are really lucky to have you as their king...
Nandini face drew a charming smile,which was hard to hide...Nandini placed the knife (it was bedecked with gems ?)on the Charan Of Krishna .

I tried my level best to bring this characterization of Nandini... This is what I thought How my Nandini should be... She is having her own sets of flaws and goodness... This Nandini is like a overflooding river when it comes to love ,be it pita or pathi...but deep down her heart she loves her people... This CHAPTER plays a vital role, during conflict of Nand and Cgm... The choices Nandini is going to make...which definitely going to impact their life...

In this chapter, we saw another side of Nandini; how she is with her Praja, and how the Praja absolutely love and adore her. I felt the scene where she offers the knife at Lord Krishna's feet telling. She does not need any more protection or self-defence in the form of a paltry thing like a knife.
