In my opinion, I honestly don't follow TRPs but it should increase for the show when compared to the remaining stuff that is going on.

Rumour has it that the 8.30pm slot for STAR is cursed! *background music depicting melodramatic revelation!*😆😆

Regards,

Ray

Oh Ray dear,

There is nothing called cursed slot *Melodramatic BGM ends abruptly*😆

Sony TV too was called cursed channel not long ago, but Kapil Sharma show proved otherwise😉

If 8.30 PM is a cursed slot in Star Plus, then what abt 8PM or 9PM slot?
At least CN is in Top 10 serials, whereas Pardes & Namkaran still struggling to make it to top 10

TRP Aunties are highly unpredictable...Added to that, they have too many options off late. Just look at their choices😆

I heard that too, my dear, just before Chandra Nandini began.

But then the 8 pm slot is the prize one, and there too, Pardes mein hai mera dil, with Arjun Bijlani of Naagin 1 fame, and Drashti Dhami, whom I had never seen before, but who, I am told, has a huge and aggressive fan following, is not doing well either. So I do not know what to say!😉

Hi-five Aunty, What a coincidence! 😆

Yesterday as well as today, we both ended up replying the same at the same time 😃

He could play a ruthless business tycoon, or a shrewd criminal lawyer. There are many options. The only thing is that it has to be the dominant role.

This apart, I agree with you, I would worry about Rajat if he gets stuck with these imperial roles. But I am sure that will not happen.

Aunty, I don't know if you've seen them but there used to be these two shows on StarOne long back: Siddhanth and Guns&Roses. One about this slick, shrewd and very successful criminal lawyer who initially cared only for fame, money and winning no matter what, but at one point has a change of heart; and the other was an interesting revenge story involving a mysterious underworld Don who has a formidable air, albeit with a 'heart of gold'. Both were very, very strong in content and had made huge stars out of the main leads. I hope to see Rajat in something similar or better. Preferably, not in another Balaji anymore.

In fact, Rajat himself had starred in this really gripping show called Keshav Pandit, an out-n-out sharp revenge story. Rajat had played the younger version of the lead. This time, in a similar fare, he could play the lead.

However, if it has to be another period drama, then it could be about some other great but popularly lesser known emperors like Kanishka (Kushan dynasty), Samudragupta (Gupta Dynasty) or Bimbisara (Haryanka dynasty). But then again, not much is known about their love lives. So from a serial maker's POV, they probably won't work 😉

Rajat often talks about his dream of ultimately being a director. So let's see.

But yeah, I would want to keep watching him on camera for many more years before he decides to drop it all and go behind it 😳

Although I'd honestly never understand what's with Naagin, Simar and Sathiya 🤢
How, just how do they manage to always remain in the consistent high TRP bracket is beyond me 😲😆

Perhaps we are telepathic, child, or maybe it is just that we both have a solid dose of commonsense!😉

I wouldn't be so apprehensive about what roles Rajat is going to play after this Aunty. Just like you. I know Rajat is capable of carrying off any role to perfection. I know this is an impossible dream which is never going to happen, but I would write a Science Fiction, an Indianized Star Wars kind of story exclusively for Rajat.
If at all that story gets written by me, it is going to be one of its kind. I have been thinking of it since a couple of days when I just made a crack about it to my husband and he promised me that if ever I was going to write it properly, in the proper format, he would get it published after I get my EAD. Perhaps I could start writing it after this CN FF of mine is done. The basic premise, a few characters, and a possible storyline for the novel have been running in my mind. But don't know if any of this is going to work out!

Hi Anjali!

Well touche to that!👍🏼

What I can't comprehend even after rummaging my brains is the fact that how the audience end up watching those grueling serials. I'll barely sit 5mins through those before flicking my phone.🥱😆

Anyways fingers crossed for the wheel of fortune to rotate for CN with TRP Aunties maneuvering it.

Just adding my opinion to this interesting thread on RT s future career possibilities. Even though I am a fan of Rajat, I would want to say here , and I am sure will be hated by a lot of forum members here for saying this, I don't think Rajat has really shown the potential to become a full fledged movie actor as yet. Now I do accept he has variety and range, but I really dont see him succeed in the movie business. In my opinion, he goes over the top in a lot of his scenes, soemthing which is called hamming. Serials focus a lot on close up, which is why his body language is not seen, and body language of RT is ok if you consider other actors in serials of today (who are mostly OTT non actors) but are we really pitting him against Sushant Singh Rajput and Rajiv Khandelwal? Sushant Singh Rajput was actually a rarity on indian tv in Pavitra Rishta with his subtle acting approach with no hamming whatsoever. In his crossover to movies also he has proved himself with amazing amazing acting in Kai piche, Byomkesh Bakshy & MSD. As for Rajiv Khandelwal, he was also quite credible in movies like Aamir and Table No. 21. Whether or not Khandelwal succeeded further that put aside, I really really cannot compare Rajat to these 2 serial actors and say Rajat is there yet, I am sorry but thats true, atleast now.
One another very important thing about Rajat Tokas is his reputation of being difficult, egoistic and full of himself. It is not even reputation, it is pretty much visible with his consistently arrogant and wierd behaviour in all interviews. Now his fans might defend him (me being one of them) with blind love for him, but frankly that kind of attitude does not do good for an actor s PR and no one is going to give a shit about him in the movie industry with an attitude like that, esp when he is no star kid and no resume other than ekta kapoor serials to boast about.
As far as looks are concerned his boyish charms and good face is the best thing about him, but again a full frame exposes the short height and his personality takes a hit. With the new crop of young actors on the scene and so much competition it is a little bit of a wishful thinking we are doing if we think ot is so easy for RT to make it in movies. But ofcourse he is all of 25 years , he has time I guess, if he works hard may be he can break the ice. Personally I think he starts doing theatre it will help him. But with his schedule how much time the poor boy can get. Being a fan I also wish all good things for him but currently I dont see him in the movies becoming a hit.

Pratiksha one never blames or doubts the capabilities of any actor or actress on such grounds as you have cited. Give the proper script and chance and if they have not made the best possible use of it, only then you could blame them. Many of us initially had several doubts regarding SBP during her initial days in CN. I was one of them but I changed my opinion. I like her as much as I do Rajat now on CN.

Till now Rajat has been playing these larger than life characters pretty often. The roles or the directors must have required OTT acting from him on many occasions. So unless he makes a bad job out of a good script and an excellent and sensitive director, I really wouldn't be judging anything about his capabilities. When the guy makes people notice and appreciate with so-so scripts and melodramatic directors, he wouldn't make a bad job out of a good and talented director and an excellent script. He would be up to that challenge as well.

Regarding modesty, pride, ego, confidence, over-confidence, they are all very relative terms. What appears modesty for one person appears egotistical for another, confidence, self-belief, self-esteem, as overconfidence, pride, over reaching mentality for another. Generally we tend to form opinions about people based on what we see or what we are insidiously shown. But sometimes, the actual person could be very different.

What I interpret, or what you interpret out of the same set of circumstances might be radically different. And a number of things which come in news articles or reports cannot be taken very seriously. They could be just attention seeking tactics. Throw mud on a famous actor, you become famous.
