As for your deadlines snarling at you, even if they were as ferocious as Cerberus, I am sure you would be more than a match for them! All the very best for the timely completion of the Kautilyan Labours. I am sure that to outdo Hercules, they must be numbering at least 13!

Affectionately,

Thank you, aunty! I need your best wishes, and will try to live up to your faith in me, beginning with a halfhearted attempt to crawl out from behind the couch 😆 The Labours are just two or three in number, but since I'm the founding member of the academy of laziness and procrastination, one task seems equal to twenty 😭😆

Anjali my pet,

I am very pleased that you have expanded so effectively on my response on this topic on prepage. Take a look at it.

Ashutosh's imagination was not as colourful as that of Ekta or of you kids, and so he did not think of hamaam scenes! 😉

Sri & Animal Lover , I will answer your question!

JA & CN may be from the same production house, but the sets were not erected by the same production house

Chandra Nandni set is erected by Balaji exclusively for this serial.

But for Jodha Akbar serial, they utilized the set already erected in 2008 for Ashutosh Gowarikar Movie Jodha Akbar staring Hrithik & Aishwarya. Ashutosh team was not able to shoot in Amer & Agra fort due to heavy tourist inflow during that time. So, they made a replica of Amer & Agra fort in ND studio, Karjat & the entire cost of the set was around 120 Million. ND studio is still making money by renting it out.
Thats why we saw MO (DJ Snake lean on) dancing in Jallu bed & hamam😆

So, No comparison b/w a serial set & a movie set😆

PS : Wish Ashutosh had used the entire set effectively...we wud have got Hrithik-Aishwarya Hamam scene Neverthless, Santram Verma did it & as a result, we are still obsessed with Hamam Jallu😳

My dear Joyee,

Apart from Shailaja's part tongue in cheek, part serious response to this one, do take a look at mine on page 29 above, about this and the other issues raised by Sri (jayaka2). I have not gone into the Padmanand era and the Chandra era differences, but I have touched on the Jodha Akbar angle.

Dear aunty, just now I replied to someone in the forum regarding an essential difference between the handling of JA and CN. I loved Rajat in Jodha Akbar, goes without saying. But I can't help but like him more in Chandra Nandini. Plus, this show has Shweta to double the fun 😳

However, there is one thing I have felt since the time Chandra became the king of Magadh. Wanted to share it with you so you can give me your take on the same...but only when your health permits aunty, please do take care...you are our dazzling written analysis ke hunar ki khaan ⭐️

So here goes. Somehow, to me, the JA mahal always looked better lit and bustling with characters and activities. Every time, without fail, there was someone to call out "baa-adab baa-mulahiza hoshiyaar...so and so tashreef la rahe hain". Surprisingly, nobody does that for Chandra and his queens...or mother...or Acharya! The CN palace looks stupendously luxurious, yet rather vacant and lifeless. I think it needs more daasis, guards, khwaja seras (don't know what they are called in Sanskrit), mantris, senapatis, etc. What do you think attributes to this core difference in treatment, given that both are under the same production? Am I missing something here?

Here it looks very grand but the material is cheap, me thinks. And there are only a few rooms and a nice hallway and pool. Will tell you why !!

There was a small stool and some decoration element in Nandini's chota room when C comes and confronts her with the koshna patrika( the one Roopa gets done). After few days, I saw the same thing in Chandra's room when she moves in with him after Daadi drama. 😆 So they keep moving many articles into that one room where shooting will take place. 😉 Whereas in JA each room had a distinct feel. J Mata room had Kanha prominently. 😉

Yes, exactly. Even I keep noticing a lot of adla-badli now and then 😆
But I didn't know JA was shot in the same Karjat location where the Ashutosh Gowariker movie was filmed. Now it all makes sense, that grandeur vs this one 😉

That way the CN sets are pretty grand for serial standards; albeit the use of rather sasta material. I wonder how much they must have spent on the stick-on gems alone though? They are everywhere...on the walls, pillars, beds...damn 😆
Jaya do you remember this show called Upanishad Ganga on DD? I used to LOVE their sets. They may have been humble on the bling, but everything conveyed so much more authenticity don't you think?

Hahahahahhahahha 🤣
I knowww you noticed that too? See, I am an art student myself...and for sketching like that, I would at best earn a meager "B" in my Portraiture Module. And this man earned two thailis of sone ke mohar...waah bhai waah 😆😆

They do not understand a single thing. They start suspecting everyone from Malayketu, Aapma, Helena,
Padmanand, and Chanakya. They start making a number of mistakes. A cat and mouse game begins between them and this mysterious kidnapper.

At the other end, Nandini finds herself kidnapped by a handsome and mysterious masked man. She tries to esacape from captivity once or twice. The kidnapper threatens Nandini of dire consequences if she tries to run away. But he surprisingly treats her gently and well.

At the end, the grand, shocking and surprising revelation is that the kidnapper is actually Chandra himself and he was doing all this to expose the entire scheme and its main players and also to protect Nandini. He was weaving circles all this while around Sunanda, Roopa and Aapma. Anybody is interested in seeing such a storyline on the show? Anybody thinks Chandra is capable, efficient and brainy enough to pull all this off?

Uff Shailja di, what a mind-blowing track this could be 👏
I'd request the CV's to directly lift from here and shoot it as it is. That way, we would witness three redemptions all in one:
(a) Nandini's honour
(b) Chandra's intelligence
(c) The storyline

Aunty, Ashutosh certainly lacks our imagination.😆 Had Anji been his assistant director...☺️...oh no, the Elder Wand looms large.😲

Anjali, certainly there is no comparison between a tv serial set and a movie set. But there is something like elegance which is completely absent in CN sets and costumes. They are all loud, garish and a pain to the eye. From the snankakshs to Chandra's brocade dupattas to the peeled off furniture to the rooms and dresses and jewelry, everything looks gaudy and plain cheap.

Take the Peshwa Bajirao sets for example. Aurangzeb's apparel and tent looked impressive though not to the standards of film sets. Queen Tara looked like a queen from every angle. The silks were simple yet regal. The palace too looks like real and not flashy as in CN. The jewelry were all graceful too.

It is a pity that Rajat is not chosen for something like that and he invariably lands up in Ekta's kichdis and keeps weeping, admiring and counting his queen's hunars and running around them in his harem.

My only problem with the Roopa fiasco nowadays. Someone please kidnap and keep Nandini away from all this. The poor girl has been deluded that she is loony when she is not. She is on the line of fire from all sides. Everybody misunderstands and heaps misery on her. It would be best if she is just kept out till the entire confusion is sorted out.

WELL, JA SETS WERE GREAT, NO DOUBT, AND INITIALLY, THE COSTUMES WERE GOOD TOO

BUT LATER BUDGET CONSTRAINTS FORCED THEM TO ADOPT AUSTERE MEASURES, AND POOR JALAL OFTEN REPEATED THE SAME CONSTUME DAY AFTER DAY

INITIALLY JODHA'S JEWELLERY WAS QUITE SAD, IT PICKED UP A LITTLE BIT DURING THE MIDDLE. TOWARDS THE END SHE WAS WEARING REALLY BAD CLOTHES, MOST OF THEM LOOKED LIKE JHATAK MITHAI WRAPPERS, OR OLD CURTAINS 😆😆

IN CN I FIND COSTUMES PASSABLE, EVEN THE JEWELLERY, A BIT LOUD AND GARRISH, BUT PASSABLE, BUT THE VFX PUTS ME OFF

BUT CANT FORGET AISHWARYA RAI'S JEWELLERY IN JA FILM, COURTESY TANISHQ, OF COURSE. ANOTHER THING IS THAT SHE WORE VERY SIMPLE JEWELLERY IN MOST SCENES, BARRING THE WEDDING AND A COUPLE OF OTHER OCCASIONS, UNLIKE PS, WHO, AS AUNTY SAYS, WAS ALWAYS LIKE A DECORATED CHRISTMAS TREE 😆
