It is quite startling, the way in which he moves from a request for a tel maalish - for a moment I thought Dabur Amla had joined the list of sponsors!😆
🤣 And i almost was about to shout 'oh no! Not again!'
- to a display of such overt, effortless physical sensuality that no wonder poor Nandini must have felt the ambient temperature becoming uncomfortably hot! 😉
☺️😆
This then is why he gets the idea of making her take the exam at the Takshashila gurukul, to divert her mind from the grief at the death of her brothers, and thus secure his own peace of mind.
Very perceptive.👏
Chandra's childhood had been spent seeing and feeling the pain his foster father inflicted on his foster mother. He had seen his mother suffer and weep. And detested the situation so much that he shut himself to love considering it a weakness. Perhaps Chandra could not bear to find himself as the cause of a woman's distress and sufferings. Although he convinces himself that she deserves it as an enemy who hurt him, yet perhaps it pricks him to be the cause of a woman's pain. He does have that basic respect for women that has been taught to him by a great Acharya as well. And he is basically good hearted. That is something that even his kingship and its various demands cannot alter.
In Nandini he also sees a woman worthy of his respect. ( of coure not his love as yet) She has abiding loyalty to her family (unlike Helena), her inclination towards education, warfare, her ability to feel for her loved ones, her being a trustworthy fallback like she was for Chaya wrt Satyajit...she is a lot like him.
I loved the Chandra-Helena confrontation. She is really in the right, and what he says in the end - that her revenge was over the minute he defeated Padmanand and Malayaketu and she thus became what she had wanted to be, the Maharani of Magadha - is a fudge. There was a second part to his agreement with her, to bring Malayaketu to her feet so that she could take her revenge on him, and this part has now fallen by the wayside.
He did bring Malayaketu to her feet once, but she let him escape. The deal was NOT to get Malayaketu to her feet again and again till she manages to kill him.😉
But Helena is a fool. Hardly a chip of her Aapama. She tried challenging him and dominating him initially. But he showed her who the boss is. Now she is attempting to woo him and pretend to agree with him in everything. But she only has to weep and speak senti dialogues and get things her way.😉😆
Aunty, no comments on Helena's attempt to dupatta-change for Chandra! 😆He has come a longway from the shy nervous Chandra at their wedding night and the nervous Chandra in the Snankaksh for the first time.
