Well, these three are considered to be the greatest emperor india ever had. so whom do you think was better ?

1. Chandragupta Maurya:

Chandragupta Maurya was the founder of the Mauryan Empire and believed to be the first Emperor to have united India into one state. The Mauryan Empire under Chandragupta Maurya was the largest empire in Indian history up until that time. With his chief advisor Chanakya, he built a strong central administration and economy. He is undoubtedly one of the greatest rulers in Indian history known to have conquered Alexander the Great's easternmost satrapies.

2. Akbar:

Akbar was the Mughal Emperor from 1556 until his death. The third ruler of the Mughal Dynasty, he succeeded Humayun at a very young age. He went on to become one of the greatest rulers in Indian history and the greatest Mughal Emperor, too. His empire included nearly all of the Indian Subcontinent north of the Godavari river and he consolidated the same using marriage alliances and diplomacy. Akbar is known to have been a liberal ruler who believed in cultural integration.

3. Ashoka:

Ashoka is also known as Samraat Chakravartin. He belonged to the Maurya Dynasty and ruled from ca. 269 BCE to 232 BCE. He reigned over most of the Indian subcontinent from the modern Iranian provinces of Khorasan, Sistan and Balochistan (unpartitioned), through the Hindukush Mountains in Afghanistan, to the Indian state of Assam in the east, and as far south as northern Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. He is attributed to the global spread of Buddhism and the emblem of modern India is derived from the Lion Capital of Ashoka.

well, i'm little bit biased toward Ashoka, so i will vote for him , though my conscious shouts Chandragupta 😆

I will be voting for akbar. No specific strong well built reason to give😆 but i think akbar was the greatest. Although ashoka and chandra were two very powerful rulers, in no way lesser than anyone else.

Emm all three were equal 😆 love all the three shows and all the rulers (though i have very limited knowledge in history) 😆

@bold- well , let me think...because of jodha- akbar ( show) 😉...i can understand😆...even i m baised toward ashok because of the show ..and some cool stufs that he did , like ashoka pillars, chakra ...also he was the only emperor who conqeoured almost whole india , no one can ever come near to that😉...though my inner soul knows that its chandra ...even if you do research ..or just search it in google or quora ..anyone can clearly explain why.

if we believe them ..then its 1. Chanda, 2. Akbar , 3 Ashoka

Akbar,, coz of his tolerant nature, he was tolerant DAT tym when orthodoxity is in its heights,, he was brought up by people lyk bairam khan, Maham anga who were totally orthodox,, bt he came out differently,, and also if you nurture with historical documents abt Akbar,, you can find out his character so interesting,, you cant tag his character good or bad, he was a person with all qualities,, Akbar ne galti ki hain, baad main usse samajh k sudharne ki kosis bhi ki hain.. I find his reign and his character so interesting, and also his luv lyf with Jodha(real one) haha, he is my fav from history. I adorn Asoka and CGM . bt I luv akku,, he has soo many shades in personality.

Chandragupta!

Because he laid the foundation of a united India. Although I'm not in favour of his portrayal in the show.

...

Akbar ke liye : I feel my views about him and heavily damaged because of his being a villian in Maharana Pratap. I personally loved that show a lot so naturally I cannot like both of them. And TV wise, I've a dislike for him. But in reality, I feel he too was great :)

wah...so many Akbar Fan , lagta hai ..saari jodha-akbar ki toli yahi aa rakhi hai😆...just kidding ...mujhe bhi Akbar pasand hai , tabhi to mene use yaha dala hai

JA made a huge fan following for Akbar no doubt. I myself get interest in him and start reading after start watching the show, thanks Abhay(history_Geek) helps me lot in dis case.

coz it doesn't mean to press any button as whose fans are more will lead here

in true sense will be difficult to choose between CGM n Ashoka

but please not referring of CGM of this show its chandra

watching old show chanakya link given by Mesufi

so as per it he had made foundation of united india

and ashoka had spread it

mostly CGM as had made effort when india was not united

About akabar from film n show impression is he became gr8 afterwards

Well,its nice to see, people are voting... but they should also gice reasons too... what they like about their chosen one?...because I can sense, people are voting on the basis of the serials only... well guys, its not anout the show... I m talking about in real, according to history🤔

It depends on what criteria

If its based on warrior and admin

1) Chandra -- because he won from scratch and had no bairam khan, man singh etc to go on battles like akbar, his opponents included alexander army, nanda army very big army compared to akbar and ashoka

2) Akbar

3) Ashoka - had kingdom served on platter by dad and grand dad

If its reforms

1) Ashoka

2) Akbar

3) Chandra

But you must see how many years each got also to choose reforms. Chandra became king at 31 years of age and left for meditation at age 54 (23 years) Akbar ruled 49 years and Ashoka 40+ years.

Here also chandra gupta was too busy consolidating the empire and setting up administration, he did not get 40-50 years like a akbar and ashoka to do reforms etc

Once you annex large kingdoms and set up admin you need to time for it to consolidate to start reforms like akbar, ashoka did. Chandra never got that time at all and had much greater enemies also at that time who were more cruel be it nanda or an alexander army who were huge and battle hardened.

Second akbar and ashoka faced indian kings and soldiers, chandra had to face greeks, persian and afghan warriors who are battle hardened and more cruel. Indian kings and soldiers are more considerate and not intimidating like greek, persian and afghans

So i think chandra is greatest emperor than ashoka and akbar
