Amina, Nandini is a good daughter but a highly conditioned, brainwashed and blind one. Even grown up kids at times instinctively realize how their parents and their character is. But Nandini displays no such discerning behavior. She is highly self-centered. She just cannot put herself in others's shoes and think. But I have full hope that even in the show her character will gradually be redeemed and she will see the truth of her father. Otherwise there is no way that this love story between Chandra and Nandini is going to start.
At the same time, to say that just because she is proud, bratty or self-centered, she deserves to be punished, is saying too much. I too do not think so. But the truth remains that just as children inherit the property of their parents, at times they inherit their actions. Take the case of criminals. Their children often face discrimination throughout their lives though they happen to be very good human beings personally.
The bad actions and karma of their parents directly and indirectly affects the lives of their children. Nandini is not being punished because she actually happens to be bad. She is the daughter of a very bad man and is suffering in many ways as a consequence of it.
