Dearest Lashykanna,

Aha! I knew you would get here sooner or later; the analysing bug is a tenacious one and hard to shake off.

I enjoyed this, but nowhere near as much as I love your Akbar-Heera chapters. Lashykanna, this sort of determined comic approach is not for you. I remember your daily posts, or at least very frequent ones, on Jodha Akbar. Compared to those, this one, while very entertaining in itself, looks like a salad. Not like the rich shahi paneer you used to serve us!

This is because when you do an episode by episode analysis, you can go into depth and describe the good parts in detail Here, the overwhelming urge is to wisecrack, and as a result, you end up losing out on most of what makes your writing special.

Which is why I didn't send you a pm of this at first... because I knew it wasn't something you'd particularly enjoy😆...
Periyamma I used to do funny takes on JA too... used to call them What I like and What I don't like - I don't know if you remember... when the episodes were really good and when there were scenes/storylines that really emotionally touched me... I went into them in detail...😳 if not, I preferred using humour...
Not because I want to be a spoilsport... but it's just my way of enjoying something that lacks logic/depth - which is how I'm currently finding this storyline too...

When the episodes really DO get that good (like the Sukanya marriage track or the hunting episode or Kajri/Badal episodes, I'll be doing the analysis... for sure!)

As for HBAS, that's right from my heart periyamma... my baby... it'll be different obviously!😳

This is just popcorn masala... 😆 Besides, yourself and so many others on your thread (Ankita, Shailaja, Khalessi, Shreya, Couch potato, Khushi, Stuti, Adwi and so many others) pen such exceptionally beautiful analysis on the episodes already😔, I wouldn't be able to add anything to it independently... at least, not at this point...

I know that you do not have the time for daily episode analyses in the old style, and in fact I am fast unable to cope with the demands they make on me as well. So my own advice, for whatever it is worth, would be for you to "do" only the special episodes which cry out for it. Then you will be able to spread yourself, and we can also compare notes, you and I, and argue over our respective interpretations of one thing or another, the way we used to in the good old days. Remember our diametrically opposite takes on Jalal's speech to the awaam as compared to his scene at the mazhar as he prays for Jodha's life to be saved?

As for your Caesar's salad, I have reservations only about one point. Actually two. One, you have written far more about Nand and even the young Chandragupta than about Rajat's version, which stems directly from the problem cited above. Two, to my mind, this Nandini is neither a great looker nor does she seem, till now, like any kind of performer, let alone the very good one you call her. If I have to watch any more scenes of daddy dearest and his atipriya putri, I shall develop one ailment I have been spared thus far - diabetes!😉. Shweta is an acclaimed actress, and she should be able to do very well, but she first has to get out of this sachcharine territory.

Periyamma.. I really didn't have much to add to RT's performance after reading your takes on it... 😊... since his expressions might be spot on (The director's boy that he is) but the scenes/storyline is still not up to the potential that he is capable of!

As for SBP, was giving the lady a chance... my friend asked me to watch her with an open mind, which I'm doing.. but I have mentioned this before and still do - she needs to shed a few pounds and tone down her kiddish behaviour, change her dressing too...
Even then, one thing that cannot be changed - she looks older to RT...😔

Oh yes, a third : there is no chemistry as yet between our leads, and if you see it, it is an illusion. He looks at her as if she was a wild cat that has to be watched out for, and she looks silly, with that tic of compressing her lower lip.

I didn't say there was chemistry periyamma.. for I find it lacking too... I said OF ALL the scenes, the only one that stood out to me was the first one... 😊

OK, Lashykanna, I have been candid with a vengeance, which is something I normally never do when commenting on the efforts of others. But I care a lot about your writing, whence this frank assessment. I know you will take it in the spirit in which it is offered.

🤗

When I am doing a proper analysis with the kind of writing you appreciate it shall not be called 'random musings' periyamma... it'll be a proper analysis!
Affectionately,

Shyamala Periyamma

Thanks Mitu..😳 yes, as Periyamma said... as the skin stretches with age, the tattoos grow in size😊... but, if not for that, there are still many other bloopers that need to be taken care of! 😛

They have lifted the scenes not only from Bahubali, they have stealthily copied the story line from your HBAS also!😉 The childhood of Chandra is miserable just like your AMK. Akbar was taken care of by his chachajaan, and likewise Chandra is rescued by Chanakya from the clutches of his foster father..The Shezaadi gives him full protection and casts him as a man of steel . Akbar grows up not giving place to weakness for anything- wine or women- in his mind and with the sole aim of service to his Emperor. Similarly, Chanakya infuses in the mind of Chandra, the only aim of "saving Bharat from the hands of the tyrant Padmanand" and shapes him as an unconquerable warrior with an iron will.Like Shyamala Aunty says, he is Chanakya's Brahmastram whose control is in the hands of the Guru.

What do you say?

Periyamma.

Hee hee... it's flattering that you think so Periyamma...🤗 but I think it's more coincidence than anything... come to think of it, didn't Chanakya-CGM more-or-less share this sort of a relationship too?

Yes, I wouldn't deny though that when I see Chandra - a lot of him reminds me of AMK.. [and this fact is reiterated when Shyamala periyamma polishes the roughly-sculpted portrayal onscreen by adding so many layers to his depiction😉...]

*Ahem* Btw, if they want a script, I'd have gladly written one for them😔 *cough for RT*
remember my longstanding wish of wanting to direct him? 😆

I forgot to add one more sequence.. The lizard on Nandini's Duppatta , like our famous Red Scorpion on Heera's!

I was not able to watch the latest episode 10, when Chandra makes his escape using Nandini as his shield. From the synopsis, I understand that a lizard was on her dupatta, and Chandra got rid of it.
The curiosity in me pestered me to look for "Palli Vizhum palan", meaning, Gowli Sastra, to know about the predictions of the future events ..
So the following table will help us to find the predictions for Nandini.

Saraswathi Peryamma/aunty/Akka

Palli Villum Palan for females

Head - Afraid of death

Hair - sickness

Calf - Expect visitors

Left eye - Love

Right eye - mental stress

Chest - good

Right cheek - Male child

Right ear - financial profits

Upper lip - disputes

Lower lip - new things

Both lips - difficulties

Breast - Unhappiness

Backside - death news

Hands - financial profits

Left hand - mental stress

Finger - Getting ornaments

Right arm - Romance

Shoulder - Getting ornaments

Thighs - romance

Knees -Affection

Ankle - Trouble

Right leg - Loss
Toe - Male child
