Suba, good to see you here after CAS forum. Have not seen the episode so this is just a guess based on what I have seen previously. There are 15 contestants for the Swayamvar, sure. But if you see her original condition is that she will marry somebody who beats her brother Dhananand in sword fighting. She thinks there is no equal for her brother but Padmanand thinks that he knows a warrior who can defeat even her brother. And that chap, according to him is Parvatak Malayaketu.

Why he thinks so is beyond me! Malay and cronies must have carried out a systematic bragging campaign to establish Malay as a great and famed warrior. This besotted girl thinks the world of her pithaji's judgement. So from her angle only Malay was capable of fulfilling her challenge. So she is trying to get only him out of the way. The rest according to her will automatically be eliminated in the final sword fighting test.

I couldn't watch yesterday's episode.

Just watched today's episode.

I found Chandra Nandini pehli mulaqaat scene too OTT and filmy.

So there were total 15 contestants for the swayamvar. Why was Nandini convincing only 'Malayketu' to not participate in it?What difference would it make if one contestant is outwhen there are already 14 other contestants? Is there any specific reason for it or they just showed it only for Chandra and Nandini to meet?

One thing I am glad about is they are not going to drag the Nandini pretending to be a daasi part for a long time.Chandra will come to know that the daasi was actually Princess Nandini herself. It would have been surely nothing but a drag fest.

Rajat as usual is awesome.

Swetha is not a pooractress but I have problem with her dialogue delivery.I felt like she is talking morelike a 21st century gal than a gal of those times.I don't know whether it's part of her character or not but she should do something about it.

Shailaja, spot on!

Subha, that is it in a nutshell. I have already told Shailaja that she would make an excellent scriptwriter. Only, she is likely to be too logical for these CVs!😉

No, my thoughtful little Manasi, it went away in the morning but is now back. I have to sit down and identify what is triggering it.

But enough of my headaches, real and virtual. I loved your comments, especially that you liked that spinning top comparison from the Gita. And I loved the photos you had located and pasted into your reply even more. So I have appropriated them and pasted them into the original post! Thanks a ton, child!

>>😃

Now I must go and respond to Debastuti's post on my last thread, for I had no time at all this morning and this post took all of 3 hours from noon to 3 pm. There are some other posts needing responses as well. What I need, Manasi, is Hermione's Time Turner, for at least 3 hours a day!😉

If Padmanand thinks that only Malayketu is yogya for Nandini and only he can defeat Dhananand then why did he invite other rajkumars? Hope it doesn't turn like CAS Swayamvadhu competition where Anandini and the other two rajkumaris were invited just for formality.

Padmanand is a clever guy. He knows that he cannot keep all his hopes pinned on a single egg however famed or talented it is. It would never do for a king of his stature. Suppose, Malay never wanted to marry Nandini, he was going to plainly refuse to marry her. That would be a loss of face to him and Nandini.

Secondly, Malay could turn out to be contrary to his expectations. All the tall claims and general praises of somebody's greatness and valor could also be cooked up. So the best solution is to send invites to princes of prominent royal families, put up a few tests and challenges to judge the validity of their tall claims, and choose the best one for your daughter.

Those days, even an Invite like this was generally not refused by the Princes unless and until there were valid and pressing reasons for it. The only danger in such a scheme, you could land up with a candidate who fulfills all your tests but might not be an eligible groom for the girl. In those cases, I presume they left the girl to have a final say on whom she wants as her life partner just like Draupadi and Karna.

Shailaja, sweetheart, what a lifesaver you are !

Of course Padmanand cannot put all his eggs into just one basket. You answer such questions so neatly and convincingly and save my poor fingers, which are reeling under the endless strain of doing the responses, so much work. Thanks!

Arijit, why do you sound so condescending? One watches a serial for a while for fun, and if it becomes intolerable, one drops it. Period. But in the meantime, one tries to enjoy it with an open mind. Chill!
