Hello Di,
We last met in the CAS Forum though I had given up on it by then.
Since I have recently come to an epiphany that expecting actual history from Indian Telly in these recent years is utter stupidity, I decided to watch this show as pure entertainment and zero take in.😆
Since it is all entertainment now, I am eagerly waiting for Rajat Tokas's entry. Been his fan since Prithviraj Chauhan and Dharam Veer, though I didn't follow JA much.
RT is sure to ace CGM.
And your insightful post are a delightful addition.
Waiting for the next ones.

Please take care of yourself aunty! Why for once can't a lead be born in natural and simple ways? In CAS we had a VFX Lion sitting watch over Dharma giving birth to Ashok in a burning hut, here it is all those peacocks camouflaging rather successfully a screeching Mura in the throes of labor pain from the pursuers and moonlight shining in full brilliance on the new born Babubali. How thick must the wool have been around their ears to prevent those duffers from identifying where Mura was from those cries? Or else those fellows were definitely imitating Gandhiji's Monkeys by listening, seeing and speaking with selective amnesia! There was one more irritating thing that has been bothering me. It is the excessive and unnecessary reference to the Chandra or moon by Mura.

Answers by Mura:

Your favorite name: Chandragupt
Your favorite drink: Chandra Paan
Your favorite food: Chandra Bhojan
Your favorite planet: Chandra
Your favorite festival: Karva Chawth
Your favorite place: Chandraprastha (Don't ask me where it is. I'm weak in geography. I'm sure it must be somewhere on this earth)
Your favorite time: Chandra Grahan
Your favorite show: Chandrakaanta
Your favorite Bahu: Chandranandini because she became my Chandra ki Nandini and made my son her Bandini for life until I asked myself Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai and everybody kept asking Yeh Kahan Aagaye Hum but my son and Bahu kept searching Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil and finally found that they left it in the land of Jodha Akbar and lived there happily ever after till they were rudely disturbed by a Brahmarakshas and Naagin which they overcame with the help of their immense love and Yeh Mohabbatein and finally did Akhand Bharath Nirman to the great pride and happiness of Bharath Maa for whom it will always be the story of Chandranandini and not just the story of the Mahaan Samrat Chandragupt Maurya alone.

No offense meant to anyone. But the two episodes I watched just bugged me off. Aunty I cannot survive watching the stuff we are seeing at present on the show. I am doing a Harry Potter in an invisible jacket till Rajat Tokas enters. I too recognized Duri of Star Mahabharath as the half- naked Naapit only today. The dress designer and make up artist are surely at fault because Duri is really handsome. I'll catch up with you when the story improves after RT's and SBP's entry! Adieu for ten or twenty odd episodes of Chandra-Agony before Chandra-Nandini begins in right earnest!

Hullo there!
I am planning on doing the same. RT is the only reason I am suffering through this disaster.
And I too recognized Dury yesterday. God why did they give him that ridiculous costume in the first episode

Hello Aunty,
I don't know what to make of the second episode. I don't like the lady playing Mura. Why does Rajat get saddled with such pathetic actors as moms on-screen 😭
The only thing I am glad about, after the episode, is that Mr. ex-Nabi will no longer be skimpily clad. Such a relief!
There is certainly a big problem with the execution of the episodes. Looks like the effect of EK's Naagin hangover

Shweta??? Poor girl, she will be much easier on the eyes, not to worry! That was Papiya, you goose, Mura!😆

I should not type any more, but I am 🤣. You and Ekta are a nice pair!😉 And who is this mysterious friend? He does not need to stay incognito, you know, and not having a TV in these days of hotstar means nothing. Let us inflict the naapit on him for starters!😆

Yes, my pet, I know I strain my fingers with individual replies, but those are, to borrow an Ekta term, my sanskaars. I feel that if someone does me the courtesy of reading my post and commenting on it, I owe that person the courtesy of a proper response. I used to do it on my JA threads too, remember?

Only, with my RA, it is becoming increasingly clear that I will not be able to keep this up any longer, which saddens me.

OK, back to the ayurvedic oil massage.

Folks,

Well, one thing is now clear: to wit who Nandini is going to be. As for the tale moving along, there are 18 years at least to be covered before the grown up Chandragupta can surface, even with the ubiquitous leap. During these years, there have to be Alexander's arrival and departure, and Chanakya has to be trotted out. Then his falling out with Padmanand or his son Dhananand, theChanakyasabadam, the famous oath, and then the shift with the young Chandragupta to Takshashila, where Alexander's satraps would be struggling for a foothold with the help of the treacherous Raja Ambhi of Takshashila. Two weeks at least, I would imagine. Let us see.

For now, what I want to know is how Chandragupta, who has already been picked up by his saviour, learns who his parents are.

Ethanai padam paarthirukkom! How else? What for did Mura draw the feather in Chandra's hands and tie the moon chain around his neck? She'll escape from Nanda's prison and find the baby with the mark that will be magically tatooed in the place she drew, and tell him the story. We should be content that the Mauryans didn't have a 'Yaadon ki baarat' song that the baby learnt Abhimanyu style.🤣

I'm not even watching...
Just going to enjoy reading Periyamma's write up and the funny replies thereafter...
RT or not, there is only so much of 'errr-ness' I can take... which is why, I didn't watch all his episodes of Naagin either... just a few 1/2 minute select scenes...

I loved your jokes yesterday... in fact, I could picture the scenes from them...

And my, this is horrible... I know the rules periyamma but I can't help breaking them... first 2 episodes of JA were far better directed... then again, why wouldn't they be?
JA was done with a purpose... a venture that she had researched for... planned for... and cast RT because he suited the role... (even then, there were loopholes a many, but still...) RT was the most 'sensational' puzzle piece that neatly fit into a large puzzle box, completing the picture!

This seems other way around... Ekta loves RT and the fandom he brings along... She has one very attractive puzzle piece and trying to build some random picture puzzle out of it. She'd finished one of the three great emperors... so moving on to the next one! Next year, we'd probably see him playing Kaurwaki ne banaayaa shoka ko Ashoka (so what if it's already been made... Ekta needs to give her own twist to history, like she'd done to MB and now CGM)

[I'm sorry, but I'm not yet including SBP as the another puzzle piece, national award winning actress or not. From the promo, I presume her role is that of a glamorous assassin-queen... and for that, I find the glamour quotient missing. This Mauryan attire is not flattering on the figure (much like a 9 yard saree/ombodhu gajam) and she needs to tone herself more so it'd suit her look better)
I saw her sword fighting practice video. Now maybe its the kind of clothes, or maybe her - but the way she carried herself looked awkward to me😕 If her enemy was a skilled swordsman, he would've completed 5 strokes by the time she makes one!

Maybe the picture will improve with time goes - but now, it resembles Jalal's picture of Atifa Begum! ]

Btw, for you -

@Auntie the episode was unintentionally funny and hilarious . Even if we agree to not not pick upon historical inaccuracies, still I'd say viewers deserve some semblance of logic and coherence of plot which I find missing here. The direction and scripting are ott. I just badly hope things get better after RT's entry. But this show doesn't look so good right now.
Your post is so much more interesting and entertaining than the ridiculous episode.
