The hyphenated heading (now removed!) is because even I cannot think of anything worthwhile to say about tonight's episode😉, but I am hopeful that there will be something substantive for us to discuss tomorrow night at least. I will then post that part here itself and PM those I feel would be interested, including all those who were kind enough to Like the first post on Episode 1.
I must say that I was most pleasantly surprised by the extent of the response to that post, and I would like to thank all those friends, both the habitues of my old threads of 3 years ago and my new readers, most warmly: for being there, for liking it, and even more important, for engaging in such brisk, lively and stimulating discussions about the show and the post. You literally made my day, thank you!!!
The agony in the title is as much for the characters and the actors, especially the unfortunate actress playing Mura,as for the viewers, in the first place yours truly. Even in the good old days of the 1970s Hindi films, and their obsession with a long suffering mother figure exemplified by Nirupa Roy, I cannot remember that unfortunate female having had to endure such slush and muck, literally and figuratively. 😡 I hope Papiya Sengupta was paid extra for putting up with all this!
Besides, evil triumphant always makes me grit my teeth, which benefits no one but my dentist. 😉Padmanand, whom I can now finally recognise as the Duryodhana of the recent Mahabharata, was better with some clothes on, but that was about it. Sandhya my dear, what a sacrilege that the first snankaksh scene should be wasted on this thug!😉
Well, one thing is now clear: to wit who Nandini is going to be. As for the tale moving along, there are 18 years at least to be covered before the grown up Chandragupta can surface, even with the ubiquitous leap. During these years, there have to be Alexander's arrival and departure, and Chanakya has to be trotted out. Then his falling out with Padmanand or his son Dhananand, the Chanakyasabadam, the famous oath, and then the shift with the young Chandragupta to Takshashila, where Alexander's satraps would be struggling for a foothold with the help of the treacherous Raja Ambhi of Takshashila. Two weeks at least, I would imagine. Let us see.
For now, what I want to know is how Chandragupta, who has already been picked up by his saviour, learns who his parents are.
Well, folks, this is it for tonight. It will also be a much-needed break for me, for I got carried away, and, with a sad lack of discipline, have overdone things badly from last night and a lot today. My fingers are stiff and painful, and even getting this short post done was an effort. A day of complete rest and treatment will do my poor fingers some good. I should really thank the CVs for this chutti!😆
See you all again tomorrow night, folks. Shubh ratri, and sleep tight!
