Hats off to u akka!(can i call u akka?😳)
This was just amazing. But i dont think Nand was Navik, it was Napit. And they can even see the royal bathroom while none of the soldiers notices them. Poor security! Same goes with room of Avantika😆 and soldiers will leave her all alone with a escaping person just like tht? Hey ishwar well anything is possible for ekta maiyaa ryt?😉

Okay. I looked up to who Guy de Maupassant was.
Then what Girish Karnad's Utsav was about.
Then who Vatsyayana was...i had assumed him to be a character of Utsav. Eeeks! Did he compile his work by playing Peeping Tom. Hope it was Girish Karnad's Natakiya Roopantar.
Then dust a few pages of history to know who Ambhi of Takshashila was! Oops! Such a poor memory that remembers no more than Alexander and Porus!
And to the dictionary here and there.

Went over the post again after all the preperations.
And realised how much i missed the JA days! Especially when i read...

- Oh, yes, I almost forgot. We had weather control weapons against the first 4th century BC invaders, it seems. An icy storm is whipped up the moment the first horsemen of the invading army are forced by their leader to set foot in Bharatvarsha.

But this leader chap is no Alexander. In fact he seems to be like modern American tourists, who cannot move a foot in strange places without a tourist guide.😉 So he turns back the minute his patriotic guide refuses to allow the soil of his native land to be soiled by the impious footsteps of a foreign invader. Alas, the likes of Ambhi of Takshashila are waiting in the wings!

My dear Jahnvi,

I hope I have got that right, but if not, please put the goof up down to my advanced years and correct me, would you? It is so sweet of you to be concerned about my RA. I am trying to forget about it in the pleasure of getting together with so many old friends who are all young in years or in spirit or both, but in a few days, I shall have to tone things down. And for now, exercise the fingers a whole lot more than usual and massage them as well!

Yes, the Chandragupta ko Mahaan Chandragupta banaya was a real dampener, but I am determined to overlook all that and concentrate on watching Rajat go thru the paces of a new role, and rest assured that he will make it different. He looks hard and unyielding, and also trim and fit as never before - that used to be my standing grouse about his hamaam scenes in the old days!😉

Now that you have mentioned it, I shall take a close look at Nandini's trekking after him!

And yes, that Nand is a creep of the first order. He made me go Ugh... as soon as I caught sight of him, long before we had that tryst of his with Avantika, and in the process, I missed his black tooth as well😉. Why is he so off putting? Does a barber have to look like a flop wrestler from an akhada?

No, my dear, that turn around character was not Alexander. He would never have stopped for anything, least of all for a pseudo-snowstorm and a guide who ditched him! I do not know who he was supposed to be, but Alexander has been properly cast and will undoubtedly make his appearance in a few episodes.

I too look forward to having me with you for the term, my dear. For now, till tonight.

Shyamala Peddamma ( I love this, and it is unique to you!)

Peddamma... 🤗 How's your rheumatoid arthritis treating you? Hope you're coping well.
Thanks for your effort despite the various set backs..

Before the episode or your analysis I got to see an excerpt of written update in Facebook that went something like - 'Nandni, who made Chandragupt The Mahaan Chandragupt' and needless to say, my exuberance died even before it began. If I were to watch this serial, I know what's going to come and for me, my tolerance levels had reached their saturation point watching Jodha-made-Akbar and I wasn't quite ready for a version two.

Then I saw your PM, read your take, decided to abide by the two commandments and give a try to this fictional historical 😉

If Facebook excerpt was the first blow, the second one came as Bharat Mata's voice over😲 🤣
Third was the female lead's odd way of trekking up beside Rajat (if anyone had noticed) which only said she's having hard time carrying that attire.😆

And fourth was hefty Nand's blacked tooth. This man and Avantika actually made me believe Love is blind, if not completely, at least partially. Avantika would have stopped by his muscle and didn't care to look up further...

Was that videshi warrior Alexander? Please tell me NO. I've had better image of that Greek warrior in my mind and at this age I can't bear if my impression shatters 😆

Overall the episode, to me, was full to filmy. We got a glimpse of Bhallala-Nand-Deva today and Bahu-Chandra-Bali-Gutpa is on the way for tomorrow. 😆

Looking forward to talking to you more here... 🤗
and yes... please please take proper rest
🤗

Your Aunty's grey cells dealing with the short term memory are dying out faster than they are being replaced, that is it. I was looking at Sara's other thread and noted Alakh's Autumn_Rose id there after so long, and somehow that stayed with me and carried over here. I am really, really sorry, my pet!

But WHERE, you disobedient child, is your Like??

It's perfectly fine Aunty, until I don't vanish completely from your memory. But I'll keep coming here to disturb you to make sure that never happens. 😉

By the way, I agree with Sands di about the two commandments. The 2nd one is hard to follow, Aunty. And obviously Jalal is winning in the looks department! 😆

Liked the post. I'm not that disobedient, Aunty.😆 My like button wasn't working yesterday. 😛

Wishing a very Happy Dussehra to you and your family, and also to all present here. Take care of yourself and your mother. Loads of love...🤗

Sandhya, my poor, dear poppet, all is forgiven! 🤗

I was getting around to hauling you over medium hot coals (not like those prepared for Sushim!) for not having spotted even one of those three jokes that I had tucked away here and there in this post. Only Preeti had noticed even the last one, and but for her, I was all set to go into a depression.😉 But now this post of yours has revived my spirits no end. See how vain and demanding one can be even at my supposedly mature age!😉

But as for pulling my leg about having recourse to a dictionary, I do not fall for that any longer!😉

Do you know, my dear, I realise only now how very much I have been missing the JA days? I am not sure we can get back there completely, but we can try, can we not? And for a beginning, this thread is not half bad.

Well, my pet, you have to be realistic. What else could he have done, given his particular field of research? He could hardly have plonked himself down inside as an interested observer, now, could he? This, young Sandhya, is as far as I can go given my jurassic mindset.😉

Mon pauvre cher MDS,

Ne vous en faites pas a cause de ces betises! Au moins, pas tellement.

I am sure things will improve before the end of the week; they can surely not go in the other direction as there is not much leeway left there!

I was in stitches after seeing the part in bold. Boys will always be boys! I know perfectly well why you liked her, she is quite a dish, and I would have been surprised only if you had not liked her.😉

But where does polygamy come in here? Neither Suryagupta nor that dolt of a Shishunaag seems to have any other wife tucked away anywhere. What Avantika is doing is practicing polyandry lite. 😉

Yes, I too liked the speeches. They were sincere and delivered with vigour.

Alors, a ce soir, donc. And the next time, do let me know if there was anything in the post that struck you as interesting, would you?

We already predicted in our old forum that this show will be anything but historical. 😆 No matter how much we prepare ourselves but it cracks us up or irritates us for ruining the history every time there is something nonsense in the show. 😆 CN didn't waste its time. From episode 1 history gaye tel lene. 😆 Not happy to see that CGM is royal by birth.

The first episode was bad. That pakao romance and possessiveness of CGM's parents didn't impress me. They just tried to convince the viewers but failed miserably. 👎🏼

I don't know why but I liked Avantika. Though I don't know how can she love a d*** like him. Yeah yeah she probably doesn't know he is eyeing another woman. 😆 But joh bhi ho she spiced up the show even though I am against polygamy. 😆

The speeches given by the kings were probably the best things of the episode. Something like this was missing in the old show we watched all together.

Overall I will give it a 1/5. Hopefully soon it will be interesting so that I don't stop watching it. 😆

S aunty it's me fairyabi, ur analysis is splendid as always but I have the habit of going to bed before 10.15 , yesterday I was waiting for your post and mahesh's WU and while replying I was almost sleepy, just wanted to reply first😆😉and thought of discussing with u this morning😃
After watching the first epi I was damn sure ekta and her CVS haven't read even the first page of Wikipedia ant cgm but as u said history apart if I come to the show even it failed to reach my expectations especially which I stored for first epi
Even the portrayal of women now a days in the show just to spice up really sucks , I think avantika was the ek loti wife of her hubby but she had nine sons with other man that too a naabik but her husband had no idea abt it
I don't think dananandha was one of the nine nanda's they will be his sons , but don't know abt nandhini being avantika's daughter
Y the invader need the permission to invade that to from a common man when he came with his army

My dear Katori (or could I perhaps use your real name?),

I am flattered and pleased that you liked my post, though given the quality of the episode, it would have been better than that in any case!😉 The episode looked so dull mostly because all the principals were so flat in their performances, like cardboard cut outs, and that Nand was the pits. Ugh..

Things will improve once Rajat turns up, and that won't be too far off, as the young Chandragupta is not a star like Faisal Khan of Maharana Pratap or Siddharth Nigam of Ashoka, and besides, this has been publicised mainly as Rajat' show.

As for the ahistorical nature of the script, my First Commandment covers that perfectly!😆

Hello Shyamala, your treatise was more interesting than the episode itself.

I love history and tend to stay away from such historical shows as they butcher the history in the worst possible way. However, the promos were too good and I have to watch it, at least for now.

I hoping that the show is entertaining enough that I can forget it is historical and can treat it in the league of fantasy shows. I think your commentary will help me to do that. 😃
