The Ganesha festival is special at Sameer's home because the idol is carved by his wife Aparna. "We started keeping Ganesha at home after my daughter Saraswati was born and it is our 13th year now. While Aparna does all the preparations, I take off from work for those two days and completely devote my time to the Ganapati celebrations at home. It is lovely to see the house filled with people. As for the visarjan, we don't do the visarjan of this year's Ganapati idol but that of the last year's idol which we keep at home for the entire year. We immerse the idol in a bucket of water at home."
