Chapter 2

Ashok woke up to the sound of people bickering, he turn his head to see kaurwaki and ayan argueing over god knows what. Kaurwaki was telling her brother to leave his sword alone, but her brother was being stubborn . he told her he just want to see if it was real or not, but kaurwaki told him he's being rude.

Their mom told them to stop arguing when she saw ashoke staring at them. She turn to ashok and asks him if he was feeling better and he nod. He asks where was he and she told him he's at her house. "We found you in the garden, unconscious" she says before adding "if my daughter didn't find you, you would have been dead", ashoke turn to kaurwaki who was watching him attentively, she was cautious and curious about ashok, but she didn't show it. Her brother on the other hand was supper curious, he started bombing ashok with many questions which gave him a headache.

The mom seeing this told ayan to help her clean up, ayan pouts before following. Leaving ashok and kaurwaki alone. Both teens were quiet in their own mind. Ashok worrying about his mom while kaurwaki, wondering why his wearing clothes like that. She looks at him before asking him his name. "My name is asho-" he quickly stop when he realize he was about to give up his full name, kaurwaki not missing the pause says " your name is assho?" She says, he quickly compose himself , I can't tell her my true identity she might be an unknown enemy. He says looking at her dress , by the amount of jeweleries she's wearing, she's probably royalty. I have to keep an eye on her, he thought " my name is ashok" he says

"Ashok?" She whispers

He looks at her with a smirk before asking for her name "kaurwaki", ashok smiles saying the name, the room became quiet once again. Just than her mom came and told her, her dad has a surprise for her. She quickly excuse herself and went down stairs, leaving ashoke alone. Now that he was alone, he took the time to look around. He move to stand, not knowing the TV remote was on the floor. He stepped on it by accident putting the TV on. Ashok was surprise to see people on the TV.

He watch as a man name jodah Akbar sit on the thrown while talking. This must be there king, he thought, watching him demand to behead a group of traitors. He walk closer to the box and touch it " what kind of sorcery is this" he says he watch as the man battle, he admit he was skilled. The man told them that no one can defeat him, this made ashok scuff and puff his chest " a man as small as yourself can never be as good as I ashok samrat" he says, when ashok said that he watch as the man draw his sword, ashok seeing this draw his sword.

Just when ashok was about to fight him, kaurwaki enters the room, surprise, she asks him what he was doing, "this man challenge me to a duel, so I accept" he says

Kaurwaki look at the TV and than ashok. She shook her head before thinking to herself, this boy is crazy, maybe it wasn't a good idea to help him. Ashok turn back to the TV to see Akbar walking away, he frown before screaming at the TV, telling him to come back and fight him. He told Akbar that a king never turns his back on a duel.

And so this was how kaurwaki came to a conclusion that ashok must have hit his head really hard.

In the past

Ahankara was searching for clues, any clues in the city, she asks the people if they've seen ashok pass by here, but they all said no, a man in a hoody threw a stone at her to grab her attention. Ahankara glared at the man and asks him why he did that. The man ushers her inside, and close the door. She took her knife out, cautiously waiting to see if the man will strike, but when he didn't she put her knife down. "I'm no threat, I just overheard you asking about ashoke" he says

Hearing his name she grab the man shoulder asking if he really saw ashok, the man nod his head. He told her that he was pulling on the cart when he saw a man running, the guards were screaming to get him. " who were the guards" she says

The man thought about it, trying to remember. He told her he couldn't see their face since it was dark, but he knew the one they were chasing was ashok because they said his name. Ahankara frown, she was hoping for more clues then this. She turn around to leave, but the man remembered something "miss" he says

"Yes what is it"

" the guards, they came from the palace direction" he says making her smile. Happily she gave him somencoins for his help, before walking out. " just found a clue against you sushim, now all I have to do is find those guards and you will be dead" she says walking away. While walking she wasn't aware of someone watching her. The person walk inside the man's house surprising him, just when he was about to say something. The person slash the man on his stomach, making him fall on his knees. He walk away ignoring the mans plea for help.

Anhankara walk to sushim while he was strolling with one of the princess's , when he saw her he smile before excusing himself. "Ladies, I will be right back" as soon as he walk to her, she slaps him. The ladies gasp while he held his jaw " I see someone is a little jealous"

" why did you send guards after ashok? What were you trying to accomplish by killing him" she says sushim asks her what she was talking about, but she only scuff. " don't try to act like you don't know, one of the people saw the palace guards chasing after him", the palace guards he mumbles before telling her she shouldn't believe everything she hears, especially from beggar's. Ahankara says the man was not a beggar, sushim raise his brows "did you give him money?" When she didn't speak he got his answer.

" that's not the point, you wanted proof against you. Then he is my proof"she says

Sushim giving up sighs " very well, take me to this person, and we will see" he says

Few minutes later ahankara knock on the man's door, when he didn't respond, she knock harder. This led the door to crack open, she walk in to see the man lying there on the floor dead. Ahankara was surprise, it wasn't long that she saw him, and now he's dead. She held her tears at bay, and close the man's eyes before saying a few prayer. When sushim got closer he made a joke about the man and insulted his well being. Ahankara out of anger, asked him if he did this, when he didnt reply she stood up and start hitting his chest. "How could you, he was innocent" she says

She told him, he must have followed her, and heard everything. That's probably the reason why he killed the man. Sushim just stood there letting her hit him. He told her that his life was meaning less, and at least he can rest without worrying about death. Ahankara remove herself from him before telling him, she hates him. Hearing this sushim felt angry, but he compose himself before walking out, leaving ahankara alone in that house.

Chapter 3

Kaurwaki was going crazy, she was running everywhere searching for ashok. See after ashok was well, her mom decides to help ashok find his home. Ashok was very happy to hear that and even told her onces his home he will reward her greately. They had asked him where exactly was his home, and he told it was pataliputa, Patna. They both were happy to know it was near. So one of the problem was the car, when ashok heard it start he took his sword out " you will release kaurwaki mother, or you will die by my blade" he says

Kaurwaki shook her head, her brother asks him what he was doing, and she told him he was crazy. She grab walk pass him, and open the car, ashok seeing this quickly grab her telling her not to get in. He push her behind him ready to fight the car, kaurwaki had enough. She grab his ears, and drag him in the car even though he was protesting. She tries to push him in , but he was holding on to the car on each side, telling her he will not enter. "Ashok!" She says

" the car won't kill you, get in" she says

Ashok stop struggling before saying this thing name is scah, kaurwaki nod, she told him that it will transport them to places, like a horse. This got him interested, he sigh before saying " we will see how fast you are", kaurwaki pushed him inside while he was distracted and got in. Ashok was sitting straight with his hand cross, he was waiting to see how fast the car was.

When the car moved, he said to himself this car was not fast, " I can run barefoot, faster then this scah" ayan asks if that was true, and ashok nod, he told them how he beat his brother sushim in a race barefoot. This made kaurwaki turn around, " your brother is sushim?" She says

"Yes he is, do you know him?"

Kaurwaki gulp, oh no I can't believe this is sushim brother, what will happen when sushim finds out I touched his brother. He will surely bully me, she thought, she looks up at ashok wondering what had happen to him , and if sushim must have done this to him. She was soon snap out of it when she realized ashok was waiting on her " yes sushim goes to my school"she says

Ashok was confuse, "how come I've never met you there" he says, kaurwaki thought the same. When they reached Patna, her mom drove them to sushim house. They all step out, to see sushim on his motocycle trying to hit on girls. Her mom walk to him earning a glare from him " sorry aunty your not my type" he says making her laugh

She told him, she's happily married and that she just want to return his brother to him. " bhai?" He says confuse "I don't have no brother,lady" he says, the lady ushers ashok and asks him, if this was his brother, ashok nod, he watch sushim, before wondering why his wearing ridiculous clothes. It could be said the same for sushim , he didn't know why their saying ashok was his brother when he has no sibling. He frown before telling them to leave him.

Kaurwaki mom sadly turns around. She told ashok maybe he got the wrong person, but ashok just stood in front of sushim, saying this is his brother, this made sushim angry. Sushim got up and look at ashok. " for the last time punk, I have no brother. I've never seen you in my life. So stop telling people that we are related" he says before pushing ashok, making him fall on the ground.

They watch as sushim got on his motorcycle and drove away.kaurwaki walk to ashoke asking him if he was alright, she told him sushim is a bad person, but today she now knows how evil he can be by not aknowleging his own brother. She turn to her mother asking her what they should do, and she told her they will come back when his cool down, so for the mean time ashok will stay with them.

The car ride was quiet, ayan didn't like when its quiet. He suggested that they show ashok around the city. The mom agreed, she told them theirs a festival going on for the kings. This grab ashok attention. "Kings?" He says

"Yes, to honor them for their bravery"

Ashok thought about it, he says to himself maybe there small king Akbar might be there. Decided he told them he will go. " maybe we can finally on duel" he mumble

When they reached the festival , they saw huge balloons that looks like Akbar and ashok, but an elder version. People were dancing, walking around and playing games. Kaaurwaki mom told them to stay close, but ashok wasn't listening. He was searching for this so call king. He jump on top of a stool and look around, when he saw a man sitting on his thrown he smirk. " there he is, I got you now" he says

So this brought kaurwaki back to the beginning, she search around until finally she heard a commotion. Running to the direction she saw ashok being held against some guards, he was struggling to get free. Why do I always find him in situations like these she thought before walking to them.

Dharma was at her privet garden, she was distracting herself from thinking of her son, one of bindusara wife told her to eat but she refuse, she told her that ashok wouldn't want her to starve her unborn child. Dharma told her she was right, she will eat when the sun sets, but she will not break the promise she made to ashoke.

Bindusara walk in worried. He asks his other wife if she's refusing to eat, and she said yes . he sighs, " maybe after the child she will forget about ashok" he says, looking at his beloved wife.

Sushim, couldn't get the words out of his head. He turn to the guards, asking them if they like him. The guards quickly said yes, sushim drunk turn to his friends " see they like me, so why does she hate me, why does she talk of ashok with such fondness" he says getting angry

Sushim friends tried calming him, he snap his hand bringing girls from the harem. One of the girls look at sushim with want. She told the other girls to leave him, his all hers. His friend smirk, the girl walk to sushim while he was sitting. Sushim was not in a good mood. His friends leave with the other girls.

The girl start singing while dancing to a song call yu hi rei, sushim was somewhat enchanted by it. She move her hips in circular motion, touching her body seductively. At first sushim was going to walk away, but he stop when he saw ahankara, watching from the door. He smirk, before touching the girls face. He spun her around while watching ahankara. She advert her eyes when she saw the look he was giving her.

The girl touch his face, getting his attention. He look back at the door to see her gone. Angry he drop the girl and drunkly walk out, searching for her. He found her outside, getting on her horse. Since he didn't want her to go, he walk in front of the horse and stood there, she told him to move, but he refuse. Sushim moved back a little drunk, he told her that she knows he likes her, yet she keeps putting an error to his heart.

He says its not just her, everyone does. His father, his mother, and even his brothers. He told her they made him this way, he was suppose to be the successor and bindusara favorite not ashok. She was suppose to be in love with him, not ashok. Everyone love ashok, but what about me. I am kicked into the side line, giving what ever I want. That's not respect, I wanted to be just like father, and rule, but instead I'm thrown to the side line like the rest of my brothers.

He move closer to her and grab her hand " what is so special about ashok, that you can't see in me?" He says looking at her, she looks away before saying he is humble , and give people hope. That's something you will never be", when she said this sushim let her hand go and walk back in, unaware of someone watching him.

As soon as he reached the guest room, he sat down, tiered. Thinking about ahankara words. The girl from earlier walk in, she went behind him touching his chest. She told him, that ahankara is wrong, he has a very nice heart. He just have to prove it, she told him that she sees his lonlyness, and that she could help him with it.

Sushim drunk allowed her to drag him to the bed, before laying with her. The girl smirk, thinking he will be hers.

Modern day

Ashok looks at Akbar before puffing his chest. He stood tall and proud. He says you have embarrassed me by walking away from our fight, but this time you will not run. He jump down from the stool and walk there. When he reached, he looks at Akbar before shouting his name. This got his attention, Akbar told them to hault and got down ashok jump on the stage, he told him that their finally facing each other, this made Akbar raised his brow. He thought ashok was a fan, so he asks if he wants a picture with him. Ashoke confused asked him if that was another source of magic, this made Akbar laugh.

Ashok told him, he is not here for a picture but instead to fight him in a duel. He told him, he wants to see his strength, akbarb gladely accept. He was thinking the boy was pretty good at playing a king. He grab his fake sword and watch ashok, ashoke did the same, they both attack one another with speed. Ashok strikes, Akbar dodge, ashok jump when Akbar kick under and strike, ashok attacks head on. Everyone thought this was a performance, they were amazed and they cheered .

When ashok clang his sword , letting it hit Akbar, the sword broke. Everyone realize ashokn sword was real, the security guards quickly grab him. Whilen ashok struggle to get free, kaurwaki seeing this told them to let go of him, but they refuse. She plead to jodah snapping Akbar from his shock. He smile and told them to let ashok go, this made kaurwaki sigh with relief.

Akbar walk to ashok and told him he was a good actor, and that he should get into the industry, this confuse ashok, he didn't know anything the man was saying, but he assume the man ment joining him for battle. "What is your name kid?" Akbar says , ashoke was contemplating whether or not to tell him, but just by looking at him, he could tell akbar was trust worthy. "Mere Nam ashok samrat" he says puffing his chest, when he said this akbar and the crowd were surprise, but they soon got over it and start clapping.

Jodah told him he played a good ashok, and that maybe one day he might actually land the part for the show. They said there good byes but before akbar left he told ashok, that he hopes to see him again. This made ashok smile, seems like I found my self an alley, maybe he can help me one day, he thought.
