The way Ashok drove away the daanav - he wasn't a superkid there.
Yhe way he almost won the competition. There too the plausibility always existed. But this time they could have shown Chanakya to have learnt the exit door plan from Varahamihir and instruct Ashok to save the lot.
Ashoka's finding the secret AND saving them all at the nth hour within the burning building was a bit too much.
