I was so disappointed when the cheating Sushim is shown triumphant...I agree this totally sends a wrong message to the audience. I want to watch Ashoka the Great not Sushim the conniving spineless cheater!

I have said this on JA forum too. Life is not always a moral science lesson where the moral of the story is ' good always defeats evil'. There are times when evil has a winning streak. The good have risen INSPITE of all hurdles.
Even in Mahabharat Duryodhana and Shakuni with all their cheating won the game of dice. This after they went scott free for Lakshyagraha dahan, and after the unjust division of the nation giving Hastinapur to the Kauravas and the barren Khandavprastha to the Pandavas which they toiled and made into Indraprastha. But Mahabharatha is in no way negativity inducing story.
Goodness wins ultimately. Not at every step.😊
And as for the fall of evil the fall becomes grave as the evil falls from a greater height. Let Sushim gloat and float to heights. His fall will be proportionately severe.

I do understand how you feel after seeing yesterday's episode. I was saddened too.

But the way I see it is that all these deceits and failures is what led to the making and shaping of Ashok as a ruthless Warrior. His trust lost, his mother's wisdom and teachings did not bring him victory. But they are etched deep in him that come to the fore after the Kalinga war.

I absolutely love the shaping of Ashok's character. There is a streak of ruthlessness in him which he keeps in check every time he recollects his mother's teachings. Self control over his rage is seen several times. And that does not make him weak in front of his opponent.

The real battle hasn't even begun. His main adversaries are the stepmoms, grandmother, uncle, and outside enemies like Selucus & Rajaji. How is Ashok supposed to learn about deceit and cheating if he does not encounter in early in his life at the hands of Sushim? All of these lessons will only make him stronger, sharper and they are the best lessons learnt for larger and bigger battles.

I guess as they say...picture abhi baaki hai dost!

Well put MaddyO and other friends. Somehow I ran into the serial Chanakya in Youtube - I think it is older - and it seems to be more enjoyable to me than either JA or CAS.

I agree. I would stop watching it if they don't do something and declare Ashok as winner.

We viewers loved watching Ashoka so far. What happened to the sassy sharp Ashoka? The one who got Sushim whipped in punishment without breaking his promise to Dharma.

We just want positivity, not Sushim overdose!

Exactly how I felt. It is not Ashoka was not shown winning, it is that Sushim was shown winning. After all that Sushim pulled to win - conveniently nobody has a clue about his antics! What happened to fair competition? I don't want to watch Sushim winning. They could have shown Siyamak winning also right?

Wonderful post Sandhya. I really felt better after reading. You made me think. You are right.

I guess what is upsetting is the treatment of the track. Why do writers try to create snow white or jet black characters? Why not shades of gray?

Consider that Sushim as first born son of Bindusaar thinks he has right to throne after Bindusaar. It is natural.
The conflict between him and Ashoka for the throne would be interesting.

I wish they can show conflict without making us hate one character so much that it becomes torture to watch. Why not show Siyamak win instead? Who enjoyed watching Sushim win? Not after everything he pulled to win - while conveniently nobody had a clue.

From JA experience - I would rather they not turn Sushim into another Ruk. I rather liked Ruk of first 100 episodes while still madly rooting for Jodha & Jalal.

Just want to feel not dejected and miserable after watching. Yet to watch today's episode. Hope now Ashoka truth is revealed. It is not like he is having a merry life when nobody knows!
