Well Asoka was married at 18 and was already a father by 20. So a young actor is needed for the role in all manner. Also Siddharth is fantastic actor hence I am in no hurry to see a grown up Asoka!

I like Siddharth but he doesn't look 20 let alone a father. We'll just have to watch and see I guess

True that! But just imagine if Siddharth were to play a father...how comical and cute that would look!😆

I was surprised to see narad (I think that's his name) here from DKDMD. The actor who went round with nandi saying Narayan. That's him right? The lead advisor?

Visha kanya or poison maiden

The Vish kanya were young women reportedly used as assassins, often against powerful enemies, during the Mauryan Empire (321-185 BCE). Their blood was purportedly poisonous to other humans, and was mentioned in the ancient Indian treatise on statecraft, Arthashastra, written by Chanakya (Kautilya), an adviser and a prime minister to the first Maurya Emperor Chandragupta (c. 340-293 BCE).[1] A Hindu mythology text, the Kalki Purana, mentions that they can kill a person just by looking at them, and talks about a Vish Kanya named Sulochana, the wife of a Gandharva, Chitragreeva. Asoka too is said to have made extensive use of Vish kanya who were often sent under disguise of rakshita or ganika.

Thanks for this info😊
Yeah this Vish kanya usage became a lot more prevalent during Chankya's period even though it was in existence much before. There were quite a few South Indian movies made on this topic with Chanakya and Chandragupta as the central figures of course!
