Hi guys,
I am making an attempt to write an ff on our lovely NivRen, as I couldn't refuse my little sis Sandy who had requested me to write. I am really nervous about it as it's the first time I'm going to do this, just hope it makes sense. I really hope you guys like it, or else I will cry... 😭
I'm not too sure about the story yet, as I haven't mapped out the story but hoping the story will progress as I go along and it will continue to flow. I am really scared that I might bore you, so please let me know if you would like me to continue or not.
I don't want to be a pain but If you guys would like me to continue, I need to tell you in advance that I will only be able to update once a week, maybe a weekend depending on how busy I am.
It was late in the night and the moon glowed dimly surrounded by stars. Nivi could feel a cool breeze coming through the bedroom window as she sat on her bed removing her jewellery, which included bracelets, earrings and a necklace. She was not used to wearing heavy jewellery or being all dolled up in glitzy clothes. She only felt comfortable in her simple and plain chooridar suits. She always looked effortlessly beautiful and hardly ever used make-up to enhance her beautiful features. She was known for her shyness and simplicity.
Divya was Nivi's cousin, her uncle's daughter. They had grown up together and lived in the same house. Divya was very glamorous compared to Nivi. Divya always looked stunning and knew just about everything when it came to fashion and make-up. Unlike Nivi, Divya was known for her boldness. She always seemed to be engrossed with anything that was to do with glamour. She loved reading all the celebrity magazines and always had her head buried in them. To NIvi's annoyance, Divya seemed to have this obsession with testing all her new make-up and other products on her.
Now that Divya was getting married, Nivi would hardly see her and was going to miss her terribly. Although Divya would only be moving to the opposite house from her maternal home, she was going to become busy with her husband and her in-laws after marriage. Nivi still had her brother Yash and cousin Aditya, but it wouldn't be the same without Divya. Yash was Nivi's younger brother and was always annoying Nivi and Divya with his silly jokes and pranks. Nivi would scream with annoyance but Divya always gave as good as she got. Aditya was Divya's older brother and lived away from home, which was due to the work he did. So the family hardly saw him, but because his sister was getting married he had returned home for some time.
With a heavy sigh Nivi put her jewellery away in the jewellery box and got changed into her black legging pyjamas. She went towards the window and looked up towards the sky and said a few words before she turned out the lights and got into bed. In her mind she began to recall all the childhood moments she shared with Divya. After a few minutes of reflecting, she switched on the lamp and stepped out of bed. She took out a photo album, from the cupboard and sat on the bed folding her legs. She rested the album on her lap and began to look at the pictures.
She smiled as she looked at the pictures of her parents and brushed her fingers across at one picture which had her and her mother in it. The picture looked as if it was taken on some ones birthday. There were balloons, decorations and a party banner in the back reading 'Happy Birthday.' She looked at her mum in the picture who was dressed in a dark green satin saree, which had sequin on the anchal. Nivi unconsciously smoothed her long black hair down with her right hand, as she looked at her mum's beautiful long hair in the picture. Her cheeks began to rise and bulge, she smiled thinking she had long hair like her mum. Nivi didn't remember having the picture taken, but it had always been her favourite picture. She must have been four or five years old in that particular picture. She was wearing a white frilly dress with pink ribbon running through her pigtails, sat in her mother's lap.
Nivi continued flicking through the pages and giggled at the pictures she saw. She then stopped for a few seconds and stared at one particular picture. The picture had Nivi, Divya, Siddhart and Viren in it. "Viren!" she said as she narrowed her eyes.
Siddharth was completely different. He was a teacher's pet during school days and had all the teachers completely wrapped around his finger. He was very studious and always well behaved. He was very hard working and had now taken over the family business after completing his degree in Business Management. Nivi admired Siddharth a lot as he had achieved so much at a very young age and had a good head on his shoulders. She was close to him as a friend as he was probably the only person who knew exactly what she went through after losing her mother so young. After all he also went through a similar suffering by losing his father very young. He knew what it felt like having a single parent. Despite this Nivi and Siddharth both knew how lucky they were to have amazing families.
