So true. Satya married completely different Sai. Poor Virat. His life would have been different if he had brought LW wali Sai in CN as new bride. NB is so perfect in the scene. But Sai was a pampered teenager & people of should have considered that. They just made Virats life hard.

This serial's concept is based only on one of the ill practices known as "Dewarvatthu".
It's still prevalent in many areas of India that women if is widowed in early age, or has a small child, is married to her immediate BIL or BIL in the family. Sometimes it's done due to keep the child in the family or having a child with the same members of the family.
So it's based on this concept. Though Kesar wasn't Gulaal's immediate BIL, but due to the reason her BIL Dushyant was responsible for her husband Vasant's death, she married Kesar when he was young.
such sudden shifts on expressions, and body language, that trembling of hand, that fear and sense of loss even before it has occurred. He seems to feel he's not going to see his child again. He won't be able to touch that tiny hand in his hands again. He won't be able to grasp it again. Like he's losing everything. That feeling on his face that shows that he is moving towards a path that leads to losing everything but he cannot do anything about it because he cannot pinpoint it. The inability to assure his son of his return, like words lost him. All he could do was nod his head forcefully because he himself wasn't convinced of what his son wanted assurance for. As if his heart knew the words he wants to speak are a lie. Like happens with many when they feel for sure about the impending loss but this conscious mind is unable to name that feeling. Brilliantly directed and exceptionally performed. See, this is the advantage of having an actor like Neil whose expressions, body language, mannerisms reveal everything even when he says nothing. Neil, man, I don't know what to say in his appreciation anymore. Because he keeps on giving such phenomenal performances that heart gets awestruck.

Virat was amazing. I too felt a pang of sadness when I watched this scene. It was so painful when Vinayak asked Virat that he has to return and his eyes welled up. And, when he was leaving Virat's hand never to hold them again. It was so heartwrenching. I have cried buckets watching this scene.
Usually I would have watched Virat's scenes where he excelled as an actor but I won't be able to watch this scene another time. I wasn't able to sit through even once and I don't know how will I watch the remaining episodes.

This scene is very close to my heart. The relief when Virat saw Vinayak and the worry when he didn't see Savi was so painful. The expression changed from relief to worry in a split second. I loved it so much but I became so emotional that I couldn't stop my tears.
And, the next instance he immediately shifted his focus on the mission. This was truly remarkable.
Yes, we don't deserve this heartbreak.
