Just read Sid's tweet.
I don't think he was supporting Salman or defending him. What Salman did was indeed wrong but it takes two to clap. People sleeping on footpath is a sign of how the Govt. is unable to provide shelter to homeless. In India, cities have the facilities of night home for homeless people provided by the Govt. They are some tent sort of things put up in safe place for such people so i guess what Sid meant was that Govt. should also take care that people don't sleep on footpaths. Many a times, to avoid sudden accident on road, drivers pull their cars on footpaths. It's kind of a knee-jerk reaction while driving so even then the driver might kill someone even though he is not drunk. Now pulling your car on footpath to avoid accidents is not bad but it does become bad because many homeless people tend to sleep there. If our Judiciary is providing justice to poor people by punishing the culprit then they should also see where did the victim go wrong and how is Govt. responsible in all this issue because such accidents have become very common. Now i don't think Sid thinks the verdict was wrong but he thinks the judiciary hasn't covered the whole issue.
Sid was being reasonable by looking at both sides of the coin but he shouldn't have been so open about it. In India such drunk and drive cases are very sensitive specially when it involves poor people. It would have been better if he kept that reasonable but rare opinion to himself only!

In any case its not justified to kill someone by running vehicle on them, even unknowingly. And he got punishment for that.. That punishment is off course different topic for discussion altogether.
What Sid wanted to highlight was other side of the story.. He wasn't at all supporting Salman. His target was the system which leaves people in such state.

I don't know how people arrived to a conclusion that he is supporting the whole story.. 😕 it was pretty clear from his second tweet..

Becoz these people are mundane. They don't look at the exact meaning of someone's words and just like to twist the words the way they want. They don't understand the difference between defending someone and looking at both sides of the coins. Personally i feel Sid is the stupid one (sorry, no offense). Twitter might be a platform to convey your thoughts publicly but it's better to keep silence on certain matters specially when you are a celebrity. It's not like he can sit and explain them what exactly he meant by his tweet. Yes if he is in some interview where he can explain his viewpoint then he should have voiced his opinion else some things are not worth getting you in some argument with people who do not even have the sense to understand what you say.
