He struck gold with his first film Aamir, wowing both audiences and critics with his performance. But ever since his debut, actorRajeev Khandelwal has struggled to capture the attention of film lovers.

The 35-year-old, who was last seen onscreen as a cop alongside party-crazed and booze-fuelled youngsters in Shaitan, is making all the right noises now with his forthcoming film - which he promises is unlike any of his earlier onscreen roles. "For me, every film is challenging, but this is a role I have never attempted before. My character is completely Neerav Ghosh's (the director) vision," he says.

Though he has done a number of dramatic roles, Rajeev confesses that he has to go a long way before he becomes an action hero. "Frankly, I am not cut out for such roles," laughs Rajeev, adding, "I can't pull them off, even if I play a larger-than-life character. There has to be a hint of realism that has to be added when enacting such roles. But that said, I will be happy to be a part of a big project that exploits my range as an actor."

Ask him about the lull after the debut that established his reputation as a promising actor and he says, "The lull was never planned. My film Peter Gaya Kaam Se (2010) didn't release. And then a big name from the industry who was in talks with me for a project kept me waiting for three months. There was a fallout between the director and the producer and I wasted three months in the process. But I don't let these things disappoint me."

Has he become selective about the roles he chooses? "The kind of films I want to be part of don't happen every day," he replies. "For me, it's important for a film to have a shelf life. It should generate publicity even after five years. I don't believe in doing three films a year. I like to focus on one project and do it well."

In an age in showbiz when hard-sell is important, Rajeev refuses to take the PR route to get ahead. "I have never been bigger than myself. It's only when a film is due for release that I decide to do any kind of publicity. Other than that, I have always drawn a line between my professional and personal life and live like an ordinary man. When I return home, I am not an actor, just Rajeev Khandelwal," he says.

Rajeev Khandelwal sure was a lucky guy this evening - the actor had two pretty ladies for company, while promoting his latest film.

Soha Ali Khan, dressed in distressed jeans, was in a fun mood as she interacted with the media.Mrinalini Sharma in a short blue dress posed for the shutterbugs and gave media bytes. The usually shy Rajeev, too, was overheard talking to people about his film. Film promotions do have a way of bringing out the chatterbox in you!

I can't pull off action roles: Rajeev Khandelwal

He struck gold with his first film Aamir, 😳😳 wowing both audiences and critics with his performance. But ever since his debut, actor Rajeev Khandelwal has struggled to capture the attention of film lovers.

Though he has done a number of dramatic roles, Rajeev confesses that he has to go a long way before he becomes an action hero😆😆 . He struck gold with his first film Aamir, 😳😳 wowing both audiences and critics with his performance. even today i'am reeling in Aamir & Shaitan effect..they are unforgettable characters portrayed by our hero...😳😳😳 But ever since his debut, actor Rajeev Khandelwal has struggled to capture the attention of film lovers. well this is not right...the writer of the article should check his facts & get to know to what extent Shaitan & Cop Arvind Mathur was applauded just because of Rajeev...😳😳😳

My character is completely Neerav Ghosh's (the director) vision," he says. he is a dedicated actor.. we all know he portrays every character with sheer perfection...& me very eager to see Rajeev in the character of the challenging role of, Raunak Kaul, i'am sure Rajeev will be awesome, out of the world in this role too...can't wait for DJ Raunak Kaul...⭐️⭐️⭐️

Though he has done a number of dramatic roles, Rajeev confesses that he has to go a long way before he becomes an action hero😆😆 . "Frankly, I am not cut out for such roles," laughs Rajeev, adding, "I can't pull them off, even if I play a larger-than-life character. There has to be a hint of realism that has to be added when enacting such roles. But that said, I will be happy to be a part of a big project that exploits my range as an actor." i agree with Rajeev..there should be realism to character which one portrays...agar realism nahii hai tho the audience cannot connect with the character...& Rajeev is a kind of person who takes risks & does varied kind of roles & this is one of the reasons that his work is praised & applauded every single time...😳😳😳 & now coming to Rajeev doing action roles, sach kahoon tho i do not mind to see him in these roles..but only when he is comfortable in doing it...tab thak i will say let him explore more areas & genre of acting...shayad kabhi na kabhi we will see him in a action flick too...😃😃😃

Ask him about the lull after the debut that established his reputation as a promising actor and he says, "The lull was never planned. My film Peter Gaya Kaam Se (2010) didn't release. And then a big name from the industry who was in talks with me for a project kept me waiting for three months. that is the spirit Rajeev..never let a set back in your career disappoint you..that is the right way to look at it...
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼.👍🏼

Has he become selective about the roles he chooses? "The kind of films I want to be part of don't happen every day," he replies. "For me, it's important for a film to have a shelf life. It should generate publicity even after five years. I don't believe in doing three films a year. I like to focus on one project and do it well." ⭐️👏 awesome...yes he is right..ek movie karo tho bhi theek, but it should be meaningful & five years down the line people should still remember it...yeh ek achche movie kii pechaan hai...👏👏👏👏

In an age in showbiz when hard-sell is important, Rajeev refuses to take the PR route to get ahead. "I have never been bigger than myself. It's only when a film is due for release that I decide to do any kind of publicity. Other than that, I have always drawn a line between my professional and personal life and live
like an ordinary man. When I return home, I am not an actor, just Rajeev
Khandelwal," he says. & this is what makes us fall in love with Rajeev more & more every single time..he is just a normal guy, like the boy next door...his modesty, humbleness, sincerity & honesty seriously bowls me over every single time...& my love for him increases ten folds always..he is the best...☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
