Some of TV'S most-hyped shows trip up when it comes to the TRP test

Alot of hype and prior promotion does not guarantee success, at least on TV. And with channels and producers giving a new show only two to three months to prove itself (they gauge audiences' reaction in this period), it puts the much-hyped shows on the spot. We look at shows that didn't work inspite of new concepts, massive promotions and star power.

THE PROMISE: The promos were intriguing, with a family looking for a groom for their daughter-in-law. Also, it's produced by the successful duo, J D Majethia and Aatish Kapadia.

WHAT WENT WRONG: The drama surrounding the re-marriage of the daughterin-law was set aside, and the marriage of the protagonists was made the focus. The next big twist — the daughterin-law being a surrogate mother — failed to create interest. It got TRP of 0.5.

Agree ... the show lost its charm the moment they decided to deviate from the original plot!

I still wonder what could have happened to change a storyline completely, within the first few weeks!! That too a show which gained complete viewer attention with such an unbleavable title!!! How could they make such hype without a decent a storyline.

Spny tv fiction shows are opening with low trp.why?problem with channel creatives and marketing streategy.life ok shows mahadev and amritmanthan ran for so many months with low trp and now it has picked up after about six month.channel gives time to show.

let us hope this show also will be given some time adding new tracks,along with krinji,keep some time main theme aside as balikavadhu.main concept is now forgotten and difeerent tracks are running the show.

Can you imgine it is possible that I.A.S officer will be ready to marry a married illietrate girl anadi now a days.when jagdish shows thinking like this and left anandi.

but in fiction show no logic is there .only thing it should create interest.

They minute they introduced surrogacy track I lost interest. I still watch BHBK but only becuase of Gaurav. Don't know how long that will hold as watching a show for an actor can't last forever. A good storyline is very much needed.

Do you really follow Balika Vadhu? I know we should not be discussing other shows here, but since you brought it up, Anandi may be a village girl but she is no illiterate, she is a graduate and the sarpanch of Jaitser! There is nothing wrong in a divorcee remarrying either! BV is going through its most interesting phase, though it had its ups and downs with useless tracks now and then...but it has been one of the most consistent shows when compared to all the others running! It is not only the story at the moment, but everything else that adds to the charm, including the cast, the sets, the ambience...et al!

I don't know why they changed the story line of BHBK, but they should have given it more time to catch an audience or they should not have launched it at 8 pm! BHBK had a lot of potential when it opened, but this surrogacy track, change of character of the female lead and throwing out Poulomi and family...it is ruined beyond redemption now I feel. Even with the surrogacy track, there was no need to make Rajni what she is now, she could have remained the simple village girl and they need not have made Aryan the brat he is...the reason for BHBK could have been something more plausible!

Tfs… They should wrap up this track soon… They're making Aryan look horrible…. He's just a poor kid….

Yes cv has to leave aryan some times off from the track.he is most annoying by behaving lile this.

add some new track with some twist,new villian,or other factory related track,as there are so many tracks in BV like some sadhu mahatam track,gahena track,wicked woman track.all this track has no major relavence with main track however this keeps audience connected.

you can have bhbk.but before that create interesting track.

Good understanding between Krish & Rajni.some love track should be there.give some time to Rajni to be a GOOD BAHU as it is she is ladli of Vaishnav Parivar.Don't change her image of good BAHU
