Business Baazigar Contestants Show The Way

14 Contestants. 24 Hours On the mean streets of Mumbai with just one rupee in hand. When this gruelling challenge was given to the 14 finalists of Business Baazigar, the big question on everybody's mind was, how will these people be able to survive with just one rupee.

In a city where nothing comes for free and even a vada pav costs Rs 10, just getting by for 24 hours with enough to eat and a place to sleep would have been achievement enough for most people.

Most people yes, but then these 14 are not ordinary folk. All of them come with this burning desire to set up a business of their own very soon and not surprisingly they turned this seemingly difficult challenge into an opportunity of a life time

Ideas came rushing. Opportunities were spotted where seemingly none existed and within 8 hours these 14 were sitting on a cash pile of 4000 rupees! And how exactly did they get there?

Puneet & Nandini decided to take the partnership route with deals with a mehndiwaali and a photographer landing them neat profits.

Rakhee and Partho took a job at Caf Leopold in the hope of good food and good tips. Leena and Prakash continued their con game and made hundreds through their roadside quiz and the promise of a non existent jackpot.

Irfan and Arundhati also made some good money from a bhelpuri stall at Fashion street. Though not before Arundhati got the scare of her life, when the existing shopkeepers of Fashion Street, unhappy with their business being disturbed, surrounded the duo and uprooted their stall.

The pick of the lot, however were Ali and Ankur. Starting off with providing roadside massages and cleaning taxis, they soon upgraded themselves and managed a big commission of Rs 2300 by helping a tourist couple buy a laptop computer.

In stark contrast were Mahesh and Manish who wanted to do something befitting their fancy degrees and have still not managed to earn even a rupee.

Eight hours of this 24-hour challenge have gone by and 16 more hours, and that includes the whole night, still remain.

How much more money can these 14 make in the night in Mumbai and will they find a safe place to sleep especially for the five girls among them.

The challenge continues on Business Baazigar, this Friday Night at 8 pm on Zee TV.

Ali and Ankur were the hot favourites for the winning spot while Mahesh and Manish feared elimination as they had earned the least money. Also, in the spotlight were Leena and Prakash who made over Rs 1,000 by conning people.

Episode 11 : Battle for Rs 1 lakh gets meaner

The challenging one-rupee task boosted the confidence of the Business Baazigar contestants like never before. This time the bunch of participants were looking more like true-blue business people. The energy levels were high, the anxiety was brimming and the task for sure was going to be even more intricate.

In the previous task the Business Baazigars were given just Re 1 to survive in the city of Mumbai. To everyone's surprise, this time the jury stunned the participants by giving them a lakh of rupees.

The teams had to take a minimum of Rs 10,000 and the upper limit was Rs 1 lakh. The jury had played it smart this time because there was a hidden twist in this seemingly easy task. The amount once taken from the kitty had to be returned with an added five percent interest. This is was the part that would test the spirit of the participants.

The teams juggled with a whole bunch of ideas from online shopping to sea food...from worn out ideas like quizzing to tongo-riding.

To start with, all the teams picked up a mere Rs 10,000 when they were offered a massive Rs 1 lakh in cash. At this very juncture, the participants limited their scope and displayed the inability to take risks, which disappointed the jury.

On day one, Satyajeet's team picked up Indian artifacts and decorative items from the market and sold their wares at Caf Leopold, Colaba. Arundhati struck a deal with Yoyo's Pub to promote their tavern and then indulged in some leisure shopping at Fashion Street.

Ali first came up with the idea of giving the chauffer driven Business Baazigar Car on hire. However later, he lunged at the thought of selling automobile spare-parts. Sadly, this plan didn't work quite well for the team as they lost out on their assured customers and ended up with unsold goods.

The differences between Ali's team were evident as Swati set out on an individual mission to sell Women's day cards. Nandini 's team stuck to old ways and promoted buggy-riding at Gateway.

As the evening set in, Arundhati's team dropped in at Yoyo's pub but were unsuccessful in promoting the place. Arundhati said that she was uncomfortable with the crowd at Yoyo's and the people were hard to convince. The dejected manager of Yoyo's Pub commented that the inexperience of Arundhati's team was obvious.

The climate of the show is changing rapidly. Friends are turning into foes. There are glaring differences between team members. The quests are becoming tough and tricky. The conflict between Ali and Swati...the spar between Satyajeet and Irfan....the dispute between Prakash and Puneet puts a question mark on the unity of the team.

Will the differences between participants ruin the success of the task? Will an individual become more important than the team? Is dominance wrecking the team spirit?

Will the 1 lakh quest prove a tough nut to crack or will it turn into another sky-rocketing amount? Only time will tell. Till then keep watching Business Baazigar as the real drama unfolds and do keep a tab on jingling money that's dropping in with every passing hour.
The excitement, the anxiety and the thrill just keeps growing in the coming episode of Business Baazigar every Friday at 8 pm only on Zee TV.

Episode 12: Rs 1 lakh & a fistful of ideas

The task of Rs 1 lakh proved to be a greater challenge to the participants than they had perceived.

In the previous task, all the teams had brilliantly converted Re 1 into thousands. However when the challenge got tougher, the participants could not recover from the hangover of the Re 1 challenge.

Ali's team, consisting of Swati and Manish, suffered from internal conflicts. Their luck changed for the better when Swati's independent idea of selling women's day cards took off.

Also Ali and Manish meticulously planned a deal with Russian Circus and made reasonable profit. At the end of the day, both their plans were executed well.

Satyajeet, coupled with Rakhee and Irfan, headed straight for an Arts and Craft exhibition. The team successfully struck a deal for selling the renowned Madhubani paintings to visitors and tourists. At the end of the day, the team was playing safe with limited profit.

Arudhanti's team had bought trendy clothes and was planning to sell it at Hiranandani. This idea, however, did not materialise and the team was forced to move their inventory to Lokhandwala.

Money started trickling in a little late for this team.

Nandini's team met with a spate of failed ideas starting with pizza counters to event planning. As a last resort, they started selling candy floss at Juhu beach.

None of the teams had thought of any creative or innovative ideas. The ideas were not suitable for a budget of Rs 1 lakh.

The teams underestimated the scale of the task and could not make sizeable profit. They stuck to monotonous and mundane ideas which disappointed the jury.

The jury attacked the participants with harsh comments. They had a collective opinion that the Bazigaars had not displayed any entrepreneur skills. They did not possess any risk taking ability in spite of the huge Rs 1 lakh kitty given to them.

Mahesh Murthy went to the extent of commenting that he was embarrassed with the contestants' performance.

This time, the jury acted tough. They insisted that the participants have to learn a lesson from this experience. The episode came to a thrilling climax when Professor Anil Gupta suggested that since all the teams had failed in the task, all the 12 contestants should be eliminated.

This lingering question created an atmosphere of extreme anxiety. The anxiety will be eased only in the next episode. The final say lies with the jury. Will the jury act tough and penalise the whole troop or will they survive this astonishing turn?

To know what lies ahead, keep watching Business Baazigar every Friday 8 pm only on ZEE TV.

Preview: Episode 13 - Rs 2 lakh, 24 Hours and a Race For Ideas

The last episode witnessed the temperature soaring high in the jury room. The confident and excited four teams fell flat when jury reacted vehemently on their modus operandi.

The coming episode unfolds the mystery. The question that was left hanging in air is answered and the anxious atmosphere put to ease.

Finally, the jury has decided to give a second chance to the 12 contestants. However, the path to the goldmine this time is much more difficult to pave.

The task has been modified and the contestants are expected to show their real mettle this time.

The end objective in the new tailored task remains same, however, the amount given has been doubled and the time allotted reduced.

Now, the four teams are provided with rupees two lakh each with a mere 24 hours and a compulsory investment of rupees seventy thousand.

The litmus test now depends on baazigar's innovative ideas and risk-taking abilities.

The four contesting teams pulled up their socks and got down to some real business. A spate of innovative ideas popped up - from organising helicopter rides touring Mumbai to conducting market research surveys. From selling helmets to engaging management students from a prestigious B school.

True business skills and ground breaking ideas only can save the contestants. This new task will prove whether the 12 finalist posses some real entrepreneurial traits or if they are mediocre middle men.

Episode 14: Final blow for four contestants

The final episode of the Thrive Task saw innumerable innovative and brilliant ideas being pumped in by the creative contestants. Almost every contestant strived to master the art of making it big in this spectacular race for crores.

In the earlier episode, all four teams came up with incredible ideas and in this episode, they try their best to implement them and impress the jury. All the teams faced intense trials and tribulations to emerge as the Number One in this exciting journey.

Ali's team played a replica of Business Baazigar in a well-known B-school - the much acclaimed NMIMS of Mumbai. The youthful and vivacious students of NMIMS were delighted with this unique experience and almost 12 teams signed in to participate.

But as time went by, found various loopholes in the project and ten teams backed out at the last moment. Manish tried various persuasion techniques to convince the students, but he could retain only two teams in the contest.

Arundhati thought of a ground-breaking idea. Her team decided to organise helicopter rides for people providing an aerial view of Mumbai city. But to their disappointment, none of the clients turned up on time and the team suffered a minimal loss of Rs.6000/-

Nandini's team was keen to strike deals with various restaurants, aiming to present them with exclusive reports about their services. They managed to convince three hotels. In the whole pursuit, theirs was the only team that made a profit at the end of the day and yet they had entered the Danger Zone.

The jury had specifically warned the teams that they would have to make a minimum investment of Rs 70, 000. Nandini's team had broken this rule and hence risked being eliminated.

Satyajit's team had invested Rs 70,000 and bought 200 helmets. But even with the most convincing and persuasive strategies, they could sell only 40 helmets.

Ali and Swati suffered total loss in executing the idea of selling No Smoking posters. They could not convince a single client with the theme and were completely disheartened.

Manish, on the other hand, was facing serious trouble in deciding the winning team. Two teams from NMIMS were fighting over the first prize which resulted in a lot of stress for Manish. After a long squabble, the teams decided to share the first prize and that was the end of Manish's agony.

But the most crucial point was yet to arrive - the journey to the Red Room where the jury almighty was ready to give their final verdict. The Jury was impressed with the innovative ideas and risk-taking abilities that the contestants displayed this time around.

The Jury ruthlessly grilled the contestants about their efforts in this endeavour. Sadly, Swati, Satyajit, Prakash and Nandini faced the final blow as they were eliminated from the exhilarating journey. Nandini's elimination came as a shock to many.

Lots of action, drama and excitement coming up on Business Baazigar as contestants make every effort to stay in this incredible journey of crores. So keep up with the pace of this irresistible race to win crores, keep watching Business Baazigar every Friday at 8 pm only on ZEE TV.

Episode 19: The wedding planners

In this Episode of Business Baazigar, contestants were given the sensitive and personalised task of organising two shaadis - one in Kolkata (arranged marriage) and the other in Mumbai (love marriage) respectively.

Lakhs of aspiring applicants who dreamt of seeing their wedding on television had applied and finally, the choice bottled down to two couples - Manish and Shruti from Mumbai and Vijay Singh and Rita from Kolkata.

Both teams took care of all the intricate details of organising a big wedding. They first met the families, jotted down their requirements, took their suggestions, decided on the budget and came up with innovative ideas of making the shaadi livelier and memorable.

Demands and requirements were very high from both parties while the budget was minimal. Kolkata groom Vijay Singh wanted Mithun Chakraborthy to be the celebrity guest while the Mumbai groom wanted a royal elephant ride to the wedding venue.

While Mumbai team divided the work and started organising the shaadi in full spirit, the Kolkata team had to spend time settling personal conflicts between the groom's and bride's families. Conflicts soared between the two parties when the bride's party asked for an overnight booking of five rooms in a Five-Star hotel named Peerless Inn - the wedding venue, while the Groom's party considered it an extravagant and unnecessary expenditure.

Tensions soared in, pressure mounted high and the Baazigars were caught in this web of internal conflicts. Will they take the right move and will they be able to peacefully resolve all these minor tribulations? Only the coming episodes will reveal the suspense.
