Best War Novels

Does anyone read war novels, whether based on history or fiction? If yes, den what is ur favourite war novel, or the most intresting war novel u have ever read?😳

I have read only a few war novels, one being lily's crossing, which was a fiction novel, and i didnt enjoy even 1 bit! Next was the dairy of anne frank which i never managed to complete! 😆 However other books which have been non-fiction and on the life of hitler, i have enjoyed dem! 😳

Ya, the Hitler ones really touch me, I like reading those, they make me really sad tho..
I really liked All Quiet on the Western Front.
That book was really good.
I also liked this other book, I can't remember the name of the book at the moment, but if i do..ill post it up,

since it is a novel....i would like to stick with gone with the wind by margaret mitchell, and north and south by john jakes both of which talk about the american civil war.

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes, The Young Lions by Irwin Shaw are all my all time favourites!!!

Oh yea Gone with the Wind is a classic!

Now this is no mean achievement...the fact that U managed to finish War N Peace!!!😉 I cant bind myself to read it coz the size really is tad intimidating...Love Tolstoy's works though...Anna Kernina is just amazing, wud love to read W&P n Ressurrection...

anyway I am going the wild goose way...
I dun really read too many novels that can be branded as "war related"...
I loved Les Miserables...it has the French war...

ohhh war novels are the best...some of them give you insight on how one perceives the war which helps you understand why it took place...i love Catch-22 ....its really awesome...
