Hello Friends!! 😃

Recently, I joined a Book Club at my school and I thought its about time that this forum had a Book Club. To start the club, the basic objectives are:

[1]to agree upon a book to read,

[2] a due date by which it should be done being read.

[3] an intense discussion on the work

[4] start all over again by picking another book

(now, to pick a book to read, we can either have a member take responsibilty on picking the book and running and keep the topic active that the book or we can all vote on the book or we can just randomly pick a book by googling it)

This Thread is only for discussing in beganing the club.

I will create another thread, once we started which book to read.

I need people to participate to make this enjoyable. The more the merrier.

Do you dare to join?

😃

Its a great idea 👏 👏 👏 .. but the deadline should be quite flexible 😳 Real life calling and sometimes other things may interfere 😳

Plus one more idea: We may also post an e-book for the chosen book, so the members who don't get access to the books may have a chance for reading. 😃 Its easy😳

We already have a book club, started by khair, however due to the members not being active its been stopped for a while. Everyone used to vote for the books they were planning to read (Not the ones they have read) and then everyone in the forum would read that book within a month and after a month we will have a discussion on it.

So maybe we can start it again if you people want it.. 😛

Im leaving this thread open for viewers on it. Whether you want the Dev Team to continue or not. However this thread will be closed soon.

@MNMS: E-Book is piracy and IF does not support Piracy.

this is a gr8888888888 idea!!!! its so strange... coz this idea struck me this morning in school and im like i have to post this here once i get home!!!! 😕 freaky! 😛 😆 and as 'MNMS' said... the deadline has to be very flexible... and well after taking Khair's example... well i guess only time can tell how many ppl r interested... 😉 but as of now count me in!!!! 😃 😃 😃 i say "as of now" bcoz my school just started 2 weeks ago and well i dunno how much of work i'll get dumped with...😕 so i don't wanna commit with something like this and later on let others down...😭 😳

I don't think its about letting others down..its about mutual consent over a deadline. We can also update people if for some reason we won't be able to finish a book on time e.g. Monthly tests, etc. Just informing rest of the people on time about the delay would be ok I guess 😳

Well if so many people are intrested why dont you people first of all nominate a book you all want to read (Not you have read) and then which ever book gets the most votes, everyone will have to read dat book within a month, and then you can all post ur reviews here! 😃

i Like to nominate the book, Anthem by Ayn Rand.
its about 100 pages and a easy read acordding to this reader [Ryan Solero]

This book bascially explains the author's philosophy about the future of mankind. Its explains of a world with no happiness or induvidualism. Everybody is the same and everyone is brothers. Well, the main theme of the story is that one man dares to be different in a world of no induvidualism. This causes some serious complications among in this lifeless society and almost leads to his death. What the author was trying to prove withthis story is that if things keep going the way they do, we might possibly have a society like this in the future. This was a really great book to read. Its very easy reading, but it still keeps you interested and thinking the entire time. You find yourself the whole time realizing how obsurd the whole situation in the story. One particular aspect I liked about the story was, instead of using induvidualistic words such as I, me, him, her, or my, they were brought up using words such as,We, ours, them they. Even if they were talking about themselves, they would use those words. Its actually very confusing and it may take a while to get accustomed to use of those words. Note: Remember, we = I. Think of it that way and it will help you.

so for a first read, this book is an awesome candidate =]

its short n it has a lot to discuss abt.
