Great Expectations (Dickens)😕...I plouged through it...forcibly keeping my eyes open (with matchsticks) and till this day, I've not figured out what the hell it was about.

Brida (Paulo Coelho) was another head scratcher.

I LOVED The Lord of the Rings but tried to read the Silmarilion (Tolkien)...started in 2001...am still trying to finish it!...Perfect book for insomniacs.

Mrs Dalloway (Virginia Wolf) WTH?!!

The Bostonians (Henry James)

The most recent one which comes to mind is "Where Rainbows End" by the author of "PS I Love You". I thought it was terrible! It was so boring I almost fell asleep and I never finished it. It was too drawn out, the writing style and characters were annoying...basically I advise people to stay away from it.

I never finished "Sense and Sensibility". I thought Twilight was strictly average but liked Jane Eyre and Anne Frank's diary.

OMG! How completely,totally,100% correct you are!👏👏👏Your description above is the best & most concise description of this book that I've ever come across!
I too actually went & bought this book coz of its fame as a worldwide bestseller & all that...but by the time I was on to the 4th Chapter I was so bored out of my mind! I haven't even finished reading it yet & the only reason I'm ploughing on with it is because of the money I spent on it; I'm just sick of Bella's repetitive lines about how beautiful Edward is (Gimme a break! So he is drop-dead gorgeous or whatever.Get over it all ready!😡) & how alluring his eyes are & how enchanting or whatever his voice is🤢 I mean, seriously! How in the world this book ,with its mediocre writing style ,lame sarcasm & a irritating & unattractive lead pair became an international best seller is beyond my comprehension😕 & is it true that this book & its successors are considered to be in the same league as Harry Potter books & Stephanie Meyer is considered to be the next J.K.Rowling?????? Goodness Gracious me! 😲😲😲 If that were true, what an insult to those much beloved Harry Potter books & J.K.Rowling that would be!

All Cecilia Ahern books except P.S I Love You are utter bores. I just complete them cos I don't leave books mid way or at least try not to. But complete bores.

OMG, HPCrazy, you crack me up!!🤣
However, 100% true, everything you said, The HP-Twilight comparison just leaves me in confusion.
There is just NO scope for comparison.😆

I have to disagree. I read it in French and, at first, I didn't get it...but once I learned about existentialism, I understood the book and it turned out to be pretty awesome.
