You're absolutely right, it's getting annoying how they keep using cancer as a plot device. I've read Thirteen Reasons Why and I can tell you it was one of the most confusing read ever. I still have a lot of mixed feelings about it. If you're tired of deaths I wouldn't recommend it.

Some good YA books I've read are:
Fangirl
Amy and Roger's Epic Detour
An Abundance of Katherines
To All the Boys I Loved Before
Sincerely, Carter (would this be NA or YA?)
Saving Francesca
Hopeless
Tight Knit
Rules of Attraction
Emancipating Andie
The Book of Broken Hearts
Sempre
Eleanor and Park
The Geography of You and Me
Don't Look Back (this is a murder mystery)
Pushing the Limits
Dare You To
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer
Shatter Me
Thousand Words
Don't Hate the Player...Hate the Game
The Statistical Probabilty of Love at First Sight
Anna and the French Kiss

PS. One thing I don't like in books is 'insta love'.

Ohh another suggestion, 'on the jellicoe road'. Has anyone read this book?? Mystry, romance, a brilliant and intriguing plot, intersting and deep characters all rolled into one book. Bit confusing at first but keep reading on and you wouldn't be able to put down.

I know how it feels and when you read them in a go, it's even more frustrating. I have read all the books you mentioned but thankfully after some gap. I personally like books with happy endings. I was a sadist back then when I read those books and loved them but then when things were not going well on personal front, I realized reading such books was tormenting. I look for books with happy endings these days. :))

Bang on, just what I wanted to say. Death is okay in fiction. But why has it always have to be about Cancer? It's so cliched. There are many other diseases! Authors could try that. Even natural circumstances are there - plenty.
