Books. I really don't like ebooks- they're too cold and clinical.

Besides I love the feel of a book in my hand, the weight of it, the rustle of pages as you turn them, that noise when you crack the spine for the first time.

You don't get any of that with an ebook, just a cold screen.

i agree, i do love the feel of a book in your hands and the illusion of wisdom it creates 😆 but if i'm wanting a quick read, i find e-books are easier to to take with you wherever you go and i tend to finish reading e-books much faster too. But i usually only spend money on books that i really love and always read because they tend to be more expensive than e-books. I'd rather not waste my money on a book i find i don't like after reading it.

I really prefer books, just the simple fact of holding them and spending time reading it, it seems so warm and intimate. When I read books I get into another world, an E-reader is just not the same, it's like...somewhat robotic...

I have become used to e-books as it is very convenient especially when travelling. Though I do feel I read faster if I have a normal book

I read an article in Reader's Digest once, and the author had an interesting point to make. You can throw a book down from the tenth storey of a building to somebody who's standing below. Try doing that with a Kindle or a Nook. :P
Paper books are handy, do not need a charger and a plug point, and are comfortable to the the eyes. Practically speaking, paper books beat e-books any day.

I know that e-books are better for the environment...and I know a lot of friends who turn to e-books simply as means to "help the environment"
More people turning to e-books = less books printed = less paper = less cut down trees = better environment.

Sure, I understand all of that.

But the feel of paper n my hands, the physical thing in my hand just somehow...personalizes it for me...it makes the experience better...I use computers a lot at work and I've started associating them with "work" and "tasks" rather than "leisure".

I have two shelves in my room and they take over more than half of one my walls but I keep buying more and more books. I also go to the public library and check out books from there...kill two birds with one stone in a way..lol

but definitely:

Books are way way way better than e-books.

I am a college student about to graduate..😊
Till now, I have downloaded my favorite books/novels through one of my go to sites in epub format and read them in Calibre.. Personally, as a student downloading my to-read books for free, and reading them works just fine. I hate going to the libraries and then I have to loan them. At times, the newly released ones aren't immediately available. And, I am impatient when it comes to books. I read like 400 novels a year from historical romance, romantic suspense, young adult/mature books, to urban fantasy, sci-fi thriller romance.

When one is a student and you loan them through your local library as you don't have your own money to buy these books, it is better to download it for free and read them in Calibre so they stay w/ your forever and you can go read them again if you want to have your fill of your favorite ones!

I have like 2000 books in my Calibre Library, and I have put huge amount of effort in rating them and tagged them according to different genres and heroes. 😆..The nerdy heroes, the alpha/badass possessive heroes, the shy heroines, the kickass/smartass heroines..I have shelved them in all kinds of titles. And, I am damn proud of it!😛

But, now that I am about to graduate and have a job, I believe I will begin to buy them through Amazon b/c working 8 hrs at a office and coming back home and staring at my laptop once again will get too stressful for my eyes. So, in the near future I will be definitely keeping a separate budget for the books I wanna buy every month. The good, old days of reading and feeling the books in my hands is in the near future for me once again!😃

Books any day.
Flipping through printed pages of a hard copy is much more engaging and I doubt any electronic app can beat it.
