A Lesson Before Dying - Must Read!

I'm new to the forum, i suppose you could say, i've been around coming back and forth in the forums. been a while but i wanted to share with all of you this book by Ernest J. Gaines. A lesson before dying, it depicts a 'black' man's struggles who is seen guilty of a crime he did not commit. The 'white' people during this time period, called him a hog and his Godmother Miss Emma, and Jefferson the man that will help him realize he is not a hog but a far greater man that all, and Jefferson's aunt, come together to make him understand. Jefferson however faces his own struggles because he isnt willing to help him, but in the end everything comes to an end, new bonds are formed. but the meaning of this book just lingers in your heart....its a must read! i just read it this weekend, for a project...and its heart-touching..
