if you want to read light, romantic comedy style books you should read books by nisha minhas these are some:

Chapatti or chips

sari and sins

passion and poppadoms

the marriage market

tall dark and handsome.

other than nishas minhas's books i would recommend a suitbale boy by vikram seth, The Mistress of Spices: A Novel by Chitra Divakaruni

I would love to help you on your problem
but why do u want only Indian authors??
there are some amazing foreign authors like Dan Brown who have written some amazing novels like Angels and Demons and Da Vinci Code..
well i suggest that you read those novels as well
As for Indian novels there are a few good ones..
As you are young,go for novels by Chetan Bhagat
He writes books which are youth oriented
also White Tiger by Salman Rushdie is a good read
you can also try some other Indian authors like Arundhati Roy,Amitav Ghosh, Vikram Seth,Meera Syal etc and many more
I would suggest you visit this website
