The simple college-bound love story, featuring newcomer Imraan Khan, seems to have clicked with the audiences much more than Baweja's sci-fi magnum opus.
Multiplexes reported near-packed houses for Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na on Friday, with occupancies at 90-95 per cent while Love Story 2050, which is introducing Harman Baweja, could only manage 50-60 per cent occupancies.
The light romantic college drama also saw far higher advance bookings than Love Story, which is co-produced by Adlabs and Harry Baweja.
Trade analysts predict that Jaane Tu... is poised to be a big hit while Love Story 2050 may not be able to match the former's success.
Imran Khan has been appreciated in the role of Jai Singh Rathore.
Before this film Genelia was seen in a few Hindi films like Masti.
