Worth your pocket money!

Director: Abbas Tyrewala

Actors: Imran Khan, Genelia, Manjari Fadnis, Karan Makhija, Alishka Varde, Nirav Mehta, Sugandha Garg, Paresh Rawal, Nasseruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak, Arbaaz and Sohail Khan

The Bitch's Verdict: Bunk your college and watch it!

Every 5 years or a decade there is a movie which the youth aged 15-23 at that time feel very close to and take it as their generation movie. 'Dil Chahta Hai', 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' are some examples. They ruled the theatres, hearts and minds of many a youngster and still do. This one has the potential to be the next on the list.

You might want to ask your younger sibling or teenaged son or daughter where exactly were they after school or if they even attended school at all. For there are chances that they might have been watching a show of this movie at the nearby multiplex!

The best thing about the movie is not the story but the characterization of each person, for stories like these can be bought over the counter and made into films.

But the content each character brings to the table, and the way they compliment each other adds to the wholeness of the film, however small the role maybe.

It might remind you of a certain city called Riverdale and characters like Archie, Betty, Veronica and the gang with their perfect lives and families. It's about the yuppie generation, who don't mind talking to their parents about their girlfriends or boyfriends.

Rahman's music is also very youthful with the song 'Kabhi Kabhi' already donning ringtones and 'Pappu cant dance' is bound to be heard in the discos very soon.

For those of you who ever watched Scooby Doo, Imran has an uncanny resemblance with Scrappy Doo and just as Scrappy sticks around with his uncle Scooby, Imran has been piggybacking his uncle Aamir a lot recently. Jibes apart, the dude managed to make an impression.

It's probably a mix of exhaustive training in acting and some genes. He looks simple, acts simple, is never over the top and has a good voice. But he can definitely do with some eyebrow trimming.
Another good part about the movie is that everyone brought out their unique acting abilities or were made to by the director!

Even Genelia, looks perfect in the part of a pretty college girl, who gets angry at the drop of a hat! Her South Indian accent is still an earsore but that was very intelligently sidelined in the movie.

Pratiek Babbar should thank his stars that he didn't listen to his dad and took the role in this movie. He again is effective with his character.

The other groupies, the fatso and his girl, the Gujju and the redhead add to the humour content in the movie, as mentioned earlier, they perfectly fit the bill and The Bitch is still amazed how the director got out such performances from such a young cast.

If you are a fan of Gujju jokes, mannerisms and accent, then there's plenty of it to keep you rolling till even after the movie finishes.

The story is about this group of friends who basically don't have any other work to do than lounge around the streets of Mumbai, attend college then again hang out together, crack jokes at each other and then end their day on the phone with each other. Seems like any student life these days.

At least they are not travelling in high-end cars or talking in crazy cool English lingo!

Two of them (Scrappy and Genelia) are quite close but don't love each other, or that's what they think, but everyone else knows they are perfect as a couple.

So to prove everyone wrong, girl finds another girl for the boy. That's where sparks of jealousy start flying and then she herself gets engaged. Amidst darting looks to each other, fist fights and the favourite airport climax scene the next half gets over.

Senior actors like Naseer, Ratna, Paresh add credibility and Arbaaz and Sohail are a surprise funny package.

An out and out feel good and cute movie! Your children might have already seen it by the time you read this review, now you go catch it.
