Bachchans give Salman cold shoulder

Even though Salman Khan is extremely close to Amitabh Bachchan and the pair has shared a warm rapport, today Salman finds himself out in the cold while the Big B has been wooing almost every top actor in B-Town to join the The Unforgettables tour.

Says a source, "Amitabh Bachchan is putting a lot of thought and energy in ensuring that The Unforgettables shows in USA and Canada is the most successful show this year.

Apart from Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Riteish Deshmukh, Madhuri Dixit and Akshay Kumar, talks are on with Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor. While everyone from Ranbir Kapoor, Preity Zinta and Lara Dutta have been approached (and have turned down the offer due to date commitments) among the top stars, Salman is one of the few who hasn't been approached by Bachchan for the shows."

The source adds that among the names being discussed by the show organisers Wizcraft and Amitabh Bachchan, one name was Salman Khan's. "This is because Salman has a huge NRI fan base as much as Shah Rukh Khan himself.

But when the talks veered to approaching Salman, Aishwarya put her foot down. Today she's not just a top actress but also the Bachchan bahu and she felt Salman's inclusion might give rise to uncomfortable moments during the tour.

Ash is an intelligent woman and her remarks were considered to be practical, so Bachchan and Wizcraft dropped the idea of asking Salman though he's very close to Wizcraft too (he recently performed for them at the Apsara awards)."

Amitabh Bachchan, however, sang a different tune,"Your penchant for manufacturing news, merely reaffirms my earlier claim, that the media has a distinct and deliberate agenda against my family and me."

Wizcraft remained unavailable for comment.
