I agree with the thought that the Bachchans got more famous b/c Aishu is their bahu...otherwise media wouldn't put so much attention and controversies into the whole matter. Still, i dont agree that aishu is the woman of the year...it's really not fair to all of the women who went out of their way to work on social causes....i think more than Aishu...we shud be hating the person who is responsible for this biased decision...i am sure he/she needs loads of lecture/hate mail😆 [jk]

Aishwarya Rai, who has just returned from Agra with her family, donated a C-Arm Image Intensifier to K K Bhabha Hospital, Bandra, on her birthday.

Our source reveals, "Aishwarya has been actively involved with the treatment of poor at Bhabha Hospital for years now. When she learnt that the hospital authorities needed a C-Arm Image Intensifier because the previous one was too old, Aishwarya got them a new one."

Our source says that Ash took personal interest in the kind of intensifier that the doctors required. He says, "Aishwarya saw to it that the machine had apt technical features that was required by the doctors."

When contacted, Hari Singh, Ash's business manager confirmed the news saying, "It is true that Ash donated a C-Arm Image Intensifier machine to Bhabha hospital on her birthday." Hari Singh also said that Ash has been actively involved with Bhabha Hospital making donations for the treatment of the poor. Singh said, "For patients who cannot afford expensive treatments, Bhabha Hospital is a boon. It is good that we have such a hospital in city to give prompt treatment without bothering about the money."

What is a C-Arm Image Intensifier machine?

A C-Arm Image Intensifier machine is a device used in medical imaging involving x-rays, mainly used for orthopedic and neurological surgery. The machine has been reported to scatter less radiation thereby reducing radiation dose to patients and theatre staff, by magnifying the intensity produced in the output image, enabling the viewer to easily see the structure of the object very clearly.
