The veteran dance master who has been in the industry for nearly three decades roped in Priyanka to play the lead of her directorial debut, Sati, written by Makarand Deshpande. Initially Priyanka had jumped at the offer, but later, backed out. She had four script narrating sessions and when Saroj went to meet her for the fifth time, Priyanka told her that she had signed a three-film deal with UTV. A source close to Saroj reveals, "Saroj is hopping mad. Priyanka had no business to give more importance to UTV. Saroj was paying her the market price. We wish that she had been clear about this from the beginning." Sources say that earlier too, when Saroj Khan wanted to make a film with Madhuri Dixit, she refused the offer and instead worked with Vaibhavi Merchant in her comeback film Aaja Nachle. Saroj was miffed with her as well. Later, Saroj decided to make another film and approached Makarand Deshpande to write the script for the film. This time she chose Priyanka, but once again she has found herself left in the lurch. Now Saroj will have to start her hunt all over again.
Scriptwriter Makarand Deshpande, however, says that he has no idea of what will happen to the film.
