Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron was a landmark movie for Bollywood. In fact it is probably the only movie of its genre -- satire and black humour -- that Bollywood has produced. Starring Naseeruddin Shah, Ravi Baswani, Bhakti Barve, Pankaj Kapur, Om Puri, Satish Shah and (a young slim) Satish Kaushik and Neena Gupta, the film is a wry commentary on the building mafia of Mumbai (then Bombay) in the early eighties and the corruption of the municipal officials who let them abuse regulations. The movie has many memorable scenes and dialogues laced with situational and (for once) really funny slapstick comedy too.
